Tired

Do you ever feel like you just can't seem to get energized? I have been feeling that way this week. I can't seem to be motivated to do anything. Maybe it is post vacation tired syndrome. Hopefully once all of our laundry is done I will feel less tired. Taylor has been pushing and kicking Quinten lots lately. I think she has finally realized that he can now play with all of the toys or at least get at them. She isn't much into sharing. She is normally kind of whiny but this week has been worse. Everytime she thinks Quinten is going to touch something she freaks out. He could be across the room but if he looks at her she thinks he is after her stuff, which is now Quinten's as well. Oh well I will have to get used to the fighting. There is lots more to come. Believe me I know from experience, if you know what I mean, dude.
Well that has been my week pretty much except for a little bit of work and finding my music for music camp. Hopefully in the next couple of days I will have more exciting things to blog about.

Pictures for real

If you look on the flikr thing under all the blogs I frequent you will find just some of our vacation pictures. They should be labeled.

As Promised

It was so hard to pick which pictures to post so here is just a taste of our vacation. Oh and on a side note, Taylor wore real underwear today and only pooped during her napped but all the other times was dry. She was using the potty without me even asking. Yeah. I am so proud of her. We have been doing a lot of potty dances. Sorry Nathan Taylor wouldn't dance for you when you went. Anyway here are the pictures as promised.

We're Back

I want to start off by saying Happy Belated Birthday to Kristen. We were in Penticton for her birthday so I couldn't post it.
We got back from Penticton last night. It was a great trip. Our trip started off with one nice day for the beach and then a couple of crappy days. On the first crappy day we took one of our three road trips. This was our short one to Kelowna to see the movie Cars. Chris and Taylor got to see the movie but Quinten wouldn't stop babbling so him and I hung out in the lobby. Oh what fun. The next day was crappy also so road trip number 2 down to Spokane, just for the day. A little shopping and little hanging out at this park and then driving back. It was a lot of driving for one day but it was so worth it. Next week was really nice and hot. I was accused of child abuse on one of the beach days. Let me explain. I was trying to get Quinten to sleep so I had him wrapped up in his towel with the hood over his head, to keep the sun off of his face. He was really fighting me so he was screaming. This chick came up and asked if I was a first time mom and what I was doing was child abuse by smothering him. Thank goodness Chris went and said something. I was really shaken by this. Things got better. Some more beaching it and lots of ice cream. Then another not so great day, now it was time for road trip number 3. We went to Vancouver and stayed overnight. We packed a lot into a day and a half. Shopped on Robson St., went to the aquarium, drove through Stanley Park a couple of times, Granville Island, Gas town(There's a story there, I'll explain later) and Canada place. We had so much fun. Taylor loved seeing the big boats, the fish and the seagulls. Who knew they could so interesting?! Then back to Penticton where we did the beach thing some more and went to the water slides twice. And of course more ice cream. On the way home we thought our car was going to break down but we made it home safely. All in all we a had a great time.
Then today Taylor pooped on the potty. She has been asking to use it today. Who knows.
Oh before I forget what kind of post would this be if I didn't have some kind of poop story for you. Taylor had been eating a lot of cherries and black licorice. If you know what those can do to your system you'll understand. I had to wash the sheets and blankets a couple of times. And let me tell you, changing diarrhea poop at the beach, not so fun. And what would a vacation be if we didn't clear out a pool because of poop leaking. This time it was Quinten in the kiddy pool. Good times.
Hopefully tomorrow I will have some pictures to post. I must go catch up on everybody's blogs.

I forgot one thing

I forgot to put in my last post the new thing QuinQuin has done. In the past he has climbed a few stairs at a time, but today he did them all. The stairs I am talking about are the ones from the main floor to the second floor. He wants to go wherever Taylor is. Time to pull out the baby gate. This really makes my life even busier. Oh well it's exciting to see how kids grow. I love it.

It's been awhile

Nothing really exciting has been going on in our lives. I had Quinten's(sorry if I don't use ' in the right way. I am so bad at grammar.)9 month cech up yesterday. He is 17 pounds and 26 1/2 inches. He is heavier than Taylor was, at 9 months, but he is shorter. Poor ol' stick. Maybe both of them will have some kind of wicked growth spurt when they hit puberty. For now they will just have to be the wee ones of the group. We have been busy getting ready for Penticton. I hate packing. It has to be done and Chris is working alot of overtime right now, so therefor packing is left to me. Other than that not much has happened. We're a boring bunch. Hopefully tomorrow I will have some new pictures to post. Till then I bid you all farewell for the evening.

Crazy Kids

On Friday Taylor found my goggles in my gym bag, while she was in time out. Those goggles haven't left her side since then. We've gone to Wal-Mart, to the mall, to bed. She loves wearing those goggles. At least she is spreading some summer joy to people that pass her by. Quinten then decided that he wanted in on the action.
On another note, I was feeling a little down yesterday and Taylor really gets affected when I am upset. She kept telling me don't be sad mommy. Then out of the blue she came up behind me, gave me a hug and said, I love you mommy. It was so clear. I love my kids so much. I think they are so cute.

Happy Canada Day

Today was a fun filled day at the zoo with Uncle Steve, Auntie Sue and Auntie Sandra. We had a great time. Taylor loves going to see the animals. Then after trying to get Taylor to nap I took the kids over to Auntie's house to play for alittle bit while Chris slept. And now I am ending a great day with the my all time favorite thing. I'm sure you can guess. Yep ice cream.

I've been watching this show on MTV called Super sweet 16. It's all about these rich, snobby teenagers that get 16th birthday parties. They get whatever they want and their parents spare no cost. Most of the parties are more than a wedding. Hundreds of thousands of dollars. It really is ridiculous. It has got me thinking though. I think it starts at a young age being spoiled. I don't mind buying my kids toys once in awhile. And what I mean is it hardly ever happens. I would love to by them lots of toys but I can't afford it and I don't think they need everything out there. So many parents give in to what ever their kid wants or lets them get away with hitting and yelling at other kids. These kids grow up to always needing to be the centre of attention and always needing to get their way. I frustrates me. I have really been trying to not let Taylor walk all over me. Somedays it is hard because at the moment it is easier to give in, but in the long run it won't help.
I guess what I am getting at, is that it is really hard work being a parent. I think before anybody ever has kids they think they have all the answers, me included. Boy do things change. I just hope my kids don't end up being like the kids on that show. Hats off to all the parents and parents to be. It isn't easy but the rewards are endless. When your child says I love you for the first time, without being prompted, or gives you a huge smile, it makes everything you do for them mean so much more.
Sorry for such a long post but I've been thinking alot about this lately.
