A toddler me thinks

Spencer is now 18 months old. Seriously where did the time go? He had his weight check and his vaccinations yesterday and today. He now weighs 21lbs 10 1/2 oz and is 31" according to our doctor and 30" according to the health nurse. He is still just off the chart for his weight but he is following his own line so nothing to be concerned about. Plus the kid eats like a pig. Most days more than his sister and brother.

Is anyone else sick of this weather? When will there be an end in sight?
I can't wait to get out in the sunshine, without a winter jacket, run in shorts, play in the yard with the kids, go for walks as a family, have Slurpee's, etc.
The cold weather has not stopped the kids. As seen here:

Oh little boys

Why is it that little boys like to do gross things? Quinks lately has had this fascination with farting on us. Luckly it has stayed in the family so don't be offended if ends uup trying to do it to you. Consider it a form of affection.

Last week Tammy gave me a blog award, my first. I have to tell 10 things about myself.

1. I used to suck my thumb. I'm kind of embarrased to say I was 12 when I stopped. That's why I want to get the oldest and youngest to stop.

2. I would love to make cupcakes and cakes for parties. But for now I do it for my family.

3. I'm running my first/second half marathon on May. It is my second time doing it and so far I am injury free so I should be able to run the whole thing. And of course my great hubby will be cheering me on right by my side.

4. I'm a closet neat freak. My house might not always be the tidiest but I sure wish it was better.

5. I love to cook and bake. I also love trying new recipes.

6. I love to share what I cook/bake with others. Having people over is so great.

7. I wish I saw my family more. They are so important to me and don't always let them know that.

8. I love watching the Biggest Loser. I commented to Chris yesterday that I cry every Tuesday because of that show. The support that they get is amazing. Last week they had to run a half marathon and I was brought to tears how much support they had around them.

9. It may seem selfish but I would love to have my family at the end of the half marathon cheering me on. And no not just my kids. To me it's important for my parents to be there too.

10. I love sales. I'm always looking for a bargain. And free is always good. Share the stuff around.

Anyway just a tid bit of info about me. I have a hard time writing stuff like that.

I now pass on the award to:

Devin http://shanemerrittfamily.blogspot.com/

Karri http://andlovinit.blogspot.com/

Chrissy http://gallitown.blogspot.com/

Kristen http://www.inspiredbydoooce.blogspot.com/

Please pray for Baby Stellan. To see there story click on the Baby Stellan picture on the right hand side. There faith is amazing.

update: I'm adding an 11th thing to my list. Just thought about it this morning. I can't stand having wrinkly clothes. I iron everything even the kids clothes. I won't even try a shirt on that is suppose to have the wrinkled look.

Almost made me cry

Like I said almost. Taylor is on spring break and yesterday was already bored of hanging out with us. She took it upon herself to call some friends. Okay so I dialed but she did all the talking. It was funny to hear to her talking away. When asked who it was she said it's me Taylor. As if to say you don't know it's me. She's getting so grown up. To some this may seem like a silly little milestone but for us it is a big deal. She is normally very shy so this was a big step. Before we know it she'll be going on her first date. Oh help me! I don't want to think about that yet.

As I'm typing this Quinks is getting his tux on. The kid would wear it everyday if he could. We have a little problem though. He is starting to grow out of it. It's still wearable but not sure for how much longer. So if anyone has a tux kicking around that they just don't know what to do with, we have a little lobbster who would give it a very loving home. It would be well loved and taken good care of. And of course worn lots. The original tux was given to us and it is by far his favorite thing to wear.

I can't post about Taylor and Quinks and not Spencie. As I type he is destroying the bonus room. I've given up on trying to keep it tidy while he is up. He is developing is own little temper and lets you know when he doesn't like something. Is it engrained in little boys heads to be somewhat aggresive? He's already been put in baby time out. Doesn't like that too much.
I'm happy to report no poop playing for 2 days now. Like I've said before duct tape is our friend.

Anyway Happy Tuesday to all! And if you watch the Biggest Loser hopefully Tara makes the 100 pound loss. That's who we're cheering for to win.

No more sickness please

I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like crap. Seriously I just got over the cold I got 2 weeks ago. So today has been a day of feeling achy and cleaning up poop. And the weather, well that certainly doesn't help. When will the poop playing end? One kid was enough but 2, come one.. I think Spencer is even worse than Quinks was. Oh well I guess we will be buying a lot of duct tape.

So that is how our day is going. Hopefully the other lobbsters don't get sick again. And fingers crossed that the snow melts sooner than later.

Oh and church got cancelled because of this said snow.

And the breaking continues

Everyone is feeling much better around these parts. Thanks for all the thoughts.

Things keep breaking around here. Taylor broke her top dresser drawer, she then broke a side plate (which we only a 6 place settings for our denby), I broke my favorite big glass measuring cup, Quinks broke a bowl ( I guess now we just need to break a big plate and we'll be down to 5 full place settings), I then broke the tip off our glass blender and yesterday Quinks head went through the bottom 2 glass panels on our pantry door. Not sure why we would have built a house with a pantry door like that. Hindsight right? We knew it would break eventually but not yet. So now we have no pantry door till Chris can figure something out. And now Spencer has full access to the garbage (he likes to eat whatever he can find on the top, it's pretty gross). I should mention that Quinks is fine. Just a bunch of glass in his hair. He's lucky he didn't get cut. And he felt really bad. I forry (sorry) Mommy is all I heard for the rest of the night.

lookin' up

Things are lookin' up in Lobbster land. Quinks still has blood in his pee and now has pink eye but all in all getting better. Now hopefully Chris doesn't come down with it.
I think that is all I have to say for now. Have a great weekend.

6+8=14 kids

As I was flipping the channels, yesterday, I passed by Dr. Phil and the octuplet mom was on. I'm not really sure how I feel about he whole situation. I'm not one to get into debates about stuff like this or really voice my opinion. For some reason watching the show bugged me. Here is a woman who already has 6 kids now 8 more and no job, and so on. I could only watch for a short period of time because I was so frustrated. The part I saw she was given all this stuff. And it sounded like she would get more as the show went on. What about the people out there who aren't selfish about wanting a big family and work their butts off to provide whatever they can? Nobody is coming to decorate bedrooms and provide furniture for them. Maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing, maybe I should have watched the whole show but.....I don't know. And to top it all off she didn't seem that appreciative.
Did anyone else watch it? Maybe I need to be set straight.

And seriously 14 kids is crazy. I feel busy enough with 3.

In other news the Lobbster kids are feeling way better. Middle lobbster still complains about his tummy hurting but other than that we are good. We even got out of the house today to get toilet paper. No more puffs kleenex for our bottoms ( and when you say bottoms say it with a british accent.)

O what a night *don't read if you don't like pee talk*

After calling health link about Quinks' tummy pain, vomiting and fever they called an ambulance. I totally didn't think it was necessary but I guess they need to cover their butts. Paramedics came, mean while I'm totally embarrassed that they came for what seemed like nothing. Told me to take him to urgent care, where they did a urine test and throat swab, even though he didn't have a sore throat or show signs of a throat infection. That doc was wacko. Seriously we went in with vomiting, fever and pretty bad abdominal pain not a sore throat. Anyway the urinalysis came back showing blood in his urine. Told me to re collect, the urine, over the next couple of days and maybe an ultrasound should be done in a week or so. But who knows, those were the docs words. I asked about it as we were leaving and the nurse didn't seem satisfied with what the doctor told me and said we should be concerned with a 3 year old having blood in his urine. And it wouldn't be a bad idea to have him seen at Children's if the vomiting and pain continue tonight. That being said we spent the night in the ER to find out that what ever is causing the vomiting/pain/fever (the flu or cold they said) is what is causing the blood. We still have to collect the urine samples for the next couple of days and probably next week see ol' Dr. J for a follow up test to make sure the blood is gone. Hopefully Quinks starts to feel better soon. I hate seeing my kids so sick and helpless. I know he's sick when the nurse was asking him about star wars and he didn't even care to do his Yoda impression. MAybe in a few days Yoda will be back.

Crossing my fingers that we don't have anymore of that kind of excitement around here. The plan will be to lay low. On the plus side Taylor is feeling way better. Woohoo!

Rolling along

Not too much has been happening around here. We've had some sickness, a trip to the ER for possible pneumonia (x-ray is all clear) but other than that not much going on.

Is anyone else out there getting sick of this weather? Seriously we shouldn't have any snow left. What has happened to our chinooks? I think everyone here in Lobbsterland is going stir crazy and wanting to get outside without having to pile on the layers.

Anyway better go I have a sick little girl how needs her mommy.

Some pictures to come once I get my butt in gear.
