1 month already

I can't believe that Spencer is a month old already. Boy time is flying by. I guess a lot has happened around here in the last couple of weeks. Spencer had his 1 month appointment today. He weighs 8 lbs 13 oz and is 22 inches long. He also smiled for the first time in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Made getting up in a sleep deprived state so much better. I will leave you with some pictures of his crazy hair and his 1 month.

He looks like he is ready to fight. My prince charming #2.

What a great weekend

Last night we went to a kids halloween party. Always a good time. Yesterday Taylor and I were able to spend some time together just the 2 of us. Taylor and Quinks have been needing my attention so I am trying to spend a little one on one time with each of them. Not sure what Quinten and I will do. I'm not sure he is into shopping like Taylor is.

Today we went on a pumpkin hunt with a bunch of friends. The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to spend time as a family. Other than that we have had a pretty relaxing weekend. Here are some pictures from our pumpkin adventures.

Taylor liked petting the animals. Quinks not so much.

What a weekend

So after spending the afternoon, into the evening, at Urgent care on Friday I was feeling not too bad. Saturday afternoon I started having this pain above my incision, just on the right side. That night I thought I was going to break open. I think I worried Chris because he kept asking if we should go to the hospital. I decided to stay home and go to bed in hopes that would help. No such luck. I still felt pretty crappy and very sore on Sunday morning. Off to Urgent care again. This time my incision had broken open, only in one spot, and was draining blood, pus, and fluid. They gave me a treatment of iv antibiotics and told to come back last night for another treatment. This morning I woke up feeling much better. The 2 iv treatments plus the drainage seemed to help. I still had to go to the home iv clinic where they said I didn't need anymore iv treatments and just to take my oral antibiotic. I also still had to have an abdominal/pelvic ultrasound. Then back to Urgent care to wait in line to get the results. Everything is fine with that. The doc said because of the draining things are looking up. Thank goodness. Now to get back to normal. and tomorrow I have to drive to High River for Spencer's snip.

Hopefully the week gets better from here on out.

New haircut

Taylor got her cut shorter today. She was pretty excited about doing so we made it happen. Things are going okay in the lobbster household. With a c-section the health nurse comes and takes the staples out 3-5 days after surgery. They put steri-strips on and let you know they will fall off, on their own, in a few days. Well mine didn't and I finally pulled them off yesterday. At the beginning of the week I noticed a painful, red, swollen area near my incision. Yesterday I got it checked and because the steri-strips were on so long bacteria got under them and cause an infection. Luckly I caught it before it got too bad. I was feeling awesome and now back to some pain. Hopefully it will feel much better in the next day or so. Otherwise I feel great. Not too tired, not sure how that has happened but whatever. I am just loving spending time with my kids and husband. I love my family.

Busy

So I might need to lower my standards for keeping a tidy house. 3 kids is lots of work especially when I clean something up and one of the little monsters comes behind me messing things up. If I didn't know better I would think that they were doing it on purpose to frustrate me. At least the bathrooms are clean, and the kitchen is clean. Now to tackle the 2 kids bedrooms. We might be moving Quinten out of the shared bedroom. They just aren't sleeping well together. It has been almost 10:00 every night and they are still awake. Then when we move Spencer maybe we will re-evaluate this. One kid is fed now to feed the other 2.

I survived

So I survived my first day with out Chris. It went pretty smoothly. I even got Taylor to her dance class and we were early. Not sure how I managed that. I'm sure it will get easier every day. I don't even feel sleep deprived. The last 3 nights Spencer has only gotten up once. It's been so nice. Hopefully it continues. He is starting to fill out a bit more. I'll try to post some pictures soon.
Well a Mom's work is never done. It is now laundry folding time. Oh how fun!

Happy Birthday Quinky, Quinks, Quinten!

Quinten at 1 week old.

Quinten's first birthday.Quinten's 2 year old pictures.

So today my middle baby turns 2. Boy does time sure fly. We already had the kids birthday party earlier in September so today will be a little family birthday celebration. Quinten doesn't really have a clue as to what is going on but knows that he is turning 2. And I think will like it when he gets a couple of presents. We love you buddy and can't wait to watch you grow another year. And speaking of growing, I think he has packed on some pounds or he just seems heavier next to Spencer.

New pics

Today was a much better day. We even went for a walk. We'll see how tomorrow goes dropping Taylor off at her class. She was already telling us, tonight, that she doesn't want to go. That's all I have for now. Maybe I'll be more interesting tomorrow.

1 week gone

Well it's been 8 days since Spencer was born. We've had a whirl wind of visitors. And a very busy weekend visiting with Jordan and Kristen. It was really great to see you guys. Looking forward to Christmas. So far I think that the jump from 1 to 2 kids is easier. I've had a wicked headache sincecoming home from the hospital. it is a side affect of the anemia that has got me again. At least we caught it early. So that could be why I am finding it harder to deal with 3 kids. I'm sure as the weeks go by we will all adjust, and the temper tantrums will lessen. I seriously thought that Taylor was possessed one night. I've never seen her like that.
I have such a wonderful husband. He has taken up all the duties that I usually do. He has been amazing. I can't say it enough how much I appreciate him. I Love You Chris!
I'll be sure to the updates a little more regular.
Hope you all had a great long weekend and ate lots of turkey.

Spencer Myles Lobb is in the house

So there I (Chris) was having a really good night sleep Sunday morning at 4:00 when the " I think my water just broke episode #3" began. At 6:30 before I was really awake out came the words "it's a boy, and what a boy". 6 Pounds 14 ounces , 19 inches long and piano playing fingers (and toes). Kirsten's doing really well (and so am I if any one cares). Turns out Taylor really didn't care if it was a girl because all she wants to do is hold and kiss "her" Spencer. She's already trying to teach him how to walk. Quinten however is more interested in the hopital t.v. and ear piece. The cast for the life and times of the Lobbsters has now been set and Kirsten and I have had to change from man to man defence to a zone system. Who wants to babysit first?? Anyone, Anyone, Bueller, Bueller.
There's nothing in this world that compares to seeing your child born and the doctor telling you your child has arrived safely. For some reason it's just as exciting every time and I believe I've had enough of that excitement. God has Blessed me with the most wonderful family I could ever imagine led of course by the most caring wife I could ask for. She is of course the real boss.
Kirsten and I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support and would like to have you over to come and meet the newest Lobbster. Don't be surprised if while you're distracted by the cute baby we bolt and go out for a few hours.
P.S. The diapers are upstairs and the baby gets breast fed. Good luck.
