Bad blogger, again

So I know I said I was going to try to blog better but I just don't have anything exciting to tell. This week has been fairly uneventful. Taylor has definately been testing the limits. Especially at night. This weekend will be busy so maybe I will have something better to write about.

Happy Monday!

Why is bed time such an issue for Taylor right now? If anybody has any suggestions I will gladly take them and give them a try. This weekend she actually went to bed really well. Well except for the puking 7 times on Saturday night. Last night she was asleep before 10:00. But today I'm not so sure we'll get that lucky. It's like she doesn't care if we take everything away. I have to admit that it really frustrates me and is exhausting. I'm really looking forward to some time away. Hopefully the fresh air will tire her out. If not her then me. And Chris can then deal with it. Penticton is just over 2 weeks away.
Well I'd better go give back the music seen as she is being so good, now.
Have a great Tuesday tomorrow.

Mamma Mia her I go again...

Saw it. Loved it. Laughed so hard. Recommend seeing it.
And good to know the kids won't go to sleep just for us. Too bad Grumpy didn't have to change a poopy diaper.

We didn't expect to say...

Don't shove anymore kleenex up your nose. Taylor got it in her head that she should shove 3 pieces of kleenex up her nose to help with the boogers. Well she ended up crying and having a bit of a bloody nose. We got it all out. This is happened at 10:30 last night. I think we have a little night owl on our hands. Time for some blinds I think.
Here are some pictures of Quinten sleeping through it all. Thank goodness.

Why?

Why must some people when they are walking, walk as slow as possible in front of a car? It's like they look at the car and think, "they have to wait for me so I'm going to take my time." Then there is the other extreme where an older person will bust there butt to cross the street. And almost break a hip or something. I saw too many of the slow pokes today. And I must add that I love slurpees. I can't seem to get enough of them this time around. Yum!!!!!! I know 2 random things that don't go.
Taylor just announced to us that she does not have boobs. Poor kid doesn't realize that she might never really have them.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's day Dad! I am thankful for who you are, your influence on me and your love. And so much more but I'm sure it could take awhile. I'm also thankful for your sense of humor, even of we make fun of you. I know I appreciate it.
Happy Father's day Chris! Taylor has been very excited to celebrate with you. I love you and love the dad you are to our kids.
Happy Father's day to all the first time dads and all the not so first time dads. Enjoy the time with your kids.

Barbershop

I came home last night from my trip to Walmart to find Chris cutting his own hair. And it wasn't a buzz cut. It looked like he had gone to get it cut. Very impressive. The only thing was that he started at one sink, his sink, and moved to my sink. So I had double the hair mess to clean up today. Those clippers were a good investment.

A few pics

We had Kris and Lynn for Tuesday night dinner last night. They took a big risk bringing ice cream over. :) It was nice to see them. Hopefully we can have another chance to hang out before they move.
When we moved in we put the kids in the same room. They like it too much and don't get to sleep. So we have been seperating them but realized that isn't helping either. So this week we are suffering through. Taking things away. Monday night it was 11:00pm and they were still awake. I think last night was about 10:00pm. But at least they were a lot quieter. I'm crossing my fingers tonight will be even better.
Quinten watching the workman. Seems like his favorite thing to do lately. If he's not watching the workman he can probably be found reading.
Finally wearing the shin pads. Yeah!

Look at our little soccer player.

What's new?

Well let's see. We got a new double stroller. And it is awesome. Tried it out at the zoo yesterday. Our driveway is cribbed and ready for the cement. Except they will be paving our street so who knows how long it will be till we get the cement. I'm not really sure where we are going to park over the next few weeks. Oh well. There is one month till Penticton. Yeah!
And Happy 20 month Birthday Quint. I can't believe in 4 months he will be a year and we will have another baby. Crazy.
Jordan and Kristen: Taylor finally wore her soccer shin pads. Just in time for the end of the season.
Other than the normal household duties nothing much has been happening in our neck of the woods.
Maybe I will have something better to post tomorrow.

Newest Goal

I've noticed lately that I am bad for keeping in touch with friends or inviting friends over. Sometimes I feel like we are the ones to make the effort but maybe everybody feels that way. So I plan to make a better effort. I know that it is hard when everybody has such busy lives. We need our friends. I think joining facebook has made me realize this. There are friends from high school that I wish I had stayed in touch with, but it just didn't happen. It's no ones fault. There are friends that I go to church with that I don't get to see as often as I would like. And friends from over the years. And then there are the people that we call so often and never seem to get together with. Maybe they don't like us. ;) Meh! So that is going to be my own personal challenge. I love having people over dinner so maybe I will start there.

My Tuesday

Well it is the first Tuesday of the month, and those who know me well know that I do my big grocery shopping on the first Tuesday of every month. That is because it is 10% Tuesday. I was lucky that my mom could come watch the kids so I could go it alone. I don't think I have been done that fast in a while. Then it was off to my ob appointment. He said everything looks good. Both kids came this time and they heard the heartbeat for the first time. Taylor was super excited about it and couldn't wait to tell Chris. Quinten, however, didn't like the doctor touching me. It's funny how protective they can be at such a young age. And then of course because it is Tuesday we had Tuesday night dinner. The only person to come was Devin. I miss playing Settlers on Tuesday nights. Maybe next time.
Well gotta go get munchkin #2 to bed and then get myself snack.
Have a wonderful rainy night.

Better

I am happy to report that Taylor's arm/hand is way better. She now has a bite over her eye that is swollen but not like her hand. She does react strongly to Mosquito bites but not usually like that. So it probably was a spider bite. Yuck! Seriously I am terrified of spiders. So the thoughts of on ein her bed just creeps me out. Oh tis the summer season.
We had a great weekend. Taylor was even better at soccer this week. It made me so proud. And of course a little teary watching her shake the other teams hands. My girl is growing up.
Then we went to the Lake Chaparral 10th Annual Garage sale. We didn't get out there soon enough so all the good stuff was gone. Then hung out and had a weiner roast at my parents house.
Why is it that when I have somewhere to be in the morning and Chris is watching the kids they sleep so late for him. Yesterday Quinten slept from 1:00-about 3:30 and then went back to bed at around 4:30pm and slept till this morning at 9:30. He slept 17 hours. I really do think he could be growing.
Today we are going to try to get to the beach. Should be fun.
Hope everyone had a great weekend and enjoys the sunny weather while it lasts.

Mosquito vs spider

On Wednesday night we went for a walk as a family. Of course the mosquito's were out but didn't really bother us too much. In the middle of the night Taylor woke us up complaining that a mosquito got her and she needed a band aid. Then she got wheezy and croupy. When she woke up yesterday her hand was bright pink and swollen. I gave her benadryl but nothing changed. It actually got worse. Her arm was now swollen, red and hot to the touch. So off we went to spend the evening at the Urgent care centre. The doctor said it didn't look infected but to watch it. And he said she could have been bit by a spider. Ugh I HATE spiders. He also said if she reacts that badly to bites watch out. So today is another benadryl day. Her hand and arm aren't so red but still really swollen and itchy. It's crazy how some people react so badly to a bite. The funny thing is she kept telling the nurse a pig bit her. And as far as I know we haven't been in contact with any pigs. She was a little freaked out because of our last hospital visit but relaxed once they brought her a movie. Hopefully today isn't as eventful.
Happy Friday!
