Hmmm what's new?

Soccer season is upon us. Quinks plays on Saturday's and Taylor plays Monday's and Wednesday's. Already after one game each we can tell Quinten and Taylor are very different when it comes to soccer. Taylor kind of follows around and will touch the ball but isn't very aggresive. Quinks on the other hand is in there like a dirty shirt. Literally. At one point he was the only one from his team playing. And he's got the celebration moves down. I did get some pictures I'll post them at a later date.

Yesterday we thought we would try putting Spencie in the bottom bunk to nap while we changed the rooms around. I can't believe how smooth it was. Of course he walked around for a bit but eventually fell asleep. Bedtime last night, nap today and bedtime tonight were awesome. He didn't even get out of the bed. Total difference from the other 2. It's sad for me to have him in a bed though. He's still my baby but this seems to make him less of one.

Other than that not much new has happened around here.

Weekend update

We had a great weekend here at the Lobbster Shack. Even though Chris had to work on Saturday during the day it was still awesome. Got to hang out with our friends. I love having people over. It was nice to spend time with friends we haven't hung out with in a while. And just being able to chat. Loved it. Nothing really got done around the house but that is so okay with me.
I can feel this is going to be a great week. It doesn't hurt that when I put my shorts on I found a $5 bill in the pocket. Sweet! Happy Monday! And we had minimal fights this morning. Mornings are not a smooth operation around these parts. And of course my SIL comes this week. Woohoo! Soccer starts on Saturday, hopefully the snow that is forcasted won't last that long.

That's about it. Off to do the dreaded laundry. I can't put it off forever.

So..............

Went to the zoo today, have a very messy house, had my usual Tuesday cry, still no thumb sucking, can't stop playing with the games on Taylor's webkinz thing, looking at some races to run, reading a book from my MIL (Thanks Joanne for the book and the treat inside.), I love ice cream and coffee (not together, well maybe sometimes), still have a messy house (I guess it's not going to clean itself), have 3 great kids and a husband who I love more than anything, am very thankful for all my family (wish I could see them more), have done 1 day of the 100 push up challenge (so far so good), me thinks some ice cream could be part of this evenings plan, I am loving meeting new Mom's at school and getting to hang out with them, I am a bad blogger (I will get to putting the picture on here Tammy. Just call me lazy bones.), and I'm going to have a great night of relaxation, even though the house is a mess, whilst watching LOST and The Unusuals (new show that we like).

Thought I would try something new with my post. Have a great hump day. It's been a good day for us.

High five Taylor

It has been 1 week since the thumb sucking stuff went on. Still no sucking. She is one proud little girl and we are really proud of her. It's been tough for her to fall asleep at night but is getting better. I think all the playing outside the kids are doing will help in the sleep department.

Now that Spring is here the kids have been playing outside non stop. I have to drag them in for supper and bed. Quinks is starting to sport his summer hair color. And they both are getting the colored cheeks.

Tomorrow I am going to try and go for a run before church. It's been almost a week since my reoccurence of pain. I'm hoping it will go well. I'm missing running. Plus I've been feeling fat lately and need to really do it and push myself instead of going at a easy comfortable pace.
It was mentioned on Kristen's blog, by a commentor, about the 100 push up challenge. I'm in awe of people who can do lots of proper push ups. I cannot do them so maybe this is what I need to get started. I'll keep ya'll posted. (I'm sure you'll be dieing to know how I'll do. ;) Right.)
I'll post for me then.

Anyway it's been a day filled with play and gymnastics so I now need to clean up. There is something always to be cleaned hey?

Easter bunny

At what age are we too old to enjoy treats from the Easter bunny? I don't think there is an age limit. wink wink nudge, nudge.

I'll cross my fingers that the bunny takes pity on me and sees that I still like getting treats, and brings me something. If not I guess I'll be raiding my kids chocolate. They're young enough that they still like sharing. Especially Spencie.

What kind of Easter traditions are out there?

Day 3

A success and she will tell anyone who will listen and cares. We are so proud of her and she is proud of herself.

Plus we've only put the stuff on once.

Another day down

Woohoo another thumb sucking free day so far. The only down side is that it is taking her longer to get to sleep. Retraining I guess.

My IT band pain is back. I was having a great run with only 2k left and whammo it hit. If you've ever had that pain before you know the leg just doesn't want to run anymore. I was so frustrated. I've had no pain so far and with less than 2 months to go I hope I can get it undercontrol. Maybe I'm just not ment to do any distance past 12K. I'll see how tomorrows short run goes. I might just have to ease up on trying to get faster and not worry about a time goal. Argh!

Anyway having a pretty lazy Saturday with Ian and Megs. Don't worry Marilyn your daughter is being well taken care of. My kids love the both of them and won't leave them alone.

We have a winner!

24 hours down and Taylor hasn't sucked her thumb. Mavala is our winner product. So far it is worth the $12. I know crazy for some nail biter type stuff but if it is going to work I'll pay it. Taylor is pretty stoked (yeah I'm a closet skate boarder) that she hasn't sucked it all day. Helps that we've been praising her. I'm not sure how long it will take before we don't have to use the stuff. Probably sooner than later.

Should have been a dentist

We had all 3 kids at the dentist. Spencer was the only one to cry. And as we thought Taylor has a small cavity that needs to be dealt with. Thankfully they won't be using needles. Laughing gas it is. We also found out we don't need to worry about Spencer sucking is thumb till is between 2 and 3. Taylor on the other hand we need to get control over. So we bought the product they sell for stopping the thumb sucking. She said the stuff stays on for about a week instead of either washing or the kid sucking it off. Tonight will be the first day of testing. So far she hasn't tried to suck it. She told the dentist she is trying to stop but it is hard. It was so cute. And we found out her 6 year molars are coming. She also has a few loose teeth that she is anxiously waiting to lose. We've made her very aware that the tooth fairy does not bring a scooter for every tooth she loses. That was a special circumstance. I think she gets it. Other than a little crying from Spencie, which was mostly when the dentist took his thumb out of his mouth, it was a painless experience. Maybe the most painful part was seeing how much it costs us to have 3 cleanings, 3 exams, 2 flouride treatments, 1 set of x-rays, and one bottle of "miracle" thumb sucking stoppage. Amen for dental plans.
