Dry day

Spence is getting the whole potty thing. He's been fully dry, well except one accident but that was my fault. I should have taken him. He even tells me when he has to go. I'm pretty excited about it and sad at the same time. It means I have no babies left and I know there are no babies coming. But I do like the thought of no diaper changes.

Taylor finally got a hair cut. It's been almost a year and a half. It was starting to show that it needed to be cut. She looks so cute. For the past couple of months she has insisted that it would be chin length. It's slightly longer than that so she can still put it up.

Right now as I type this the boys are playing with barbies and polly pockets. And Taylor looks like she'll fall asleep any minute. She's not the least bit upset they are playing with her stuff.

Lack of imagination for a title

With surgery comes blood tests. Today was blood taking day for Taylor. The last time she was great. Watched the whole thing, didn't make a peep, didn't need Mommy to sit with her. This time was so different. Let me tell you how strong a 6 year old girl can get. Yikes. It took 3 of us to hold her down. And even with that she was trying to claw the needle out. She is a fighter. Hopefully like with the tube procedure no needles before hand. A stop for slurpees made up for the pain till her brother bit her and she said it reminded her of the needle. All is good now.

Potty training is going okay. I don't know how some kids can be so young and get it. I realize Spencer is younger than the other 2 were but it's discouraging to hear of people who's kids aren't even 2 and they are potty trained. Spence does pretty well just a few accidents.

Running has lacked. Trying to train sometimes with Chris' schedule is tough. Hopefully this week gets better. I'm starting to feel a lack of energy.

Anyway I hope everyone is have a happy spring so far. How can you not with the sunshining?

Another surgery

Taylor is having her tonsils out, not totally sure on the adenoids, on April 9th. She's been having a lot of sleep problems. Snoring and sleep apnea so we watched it and yesterday at her ENT appointment he said it would be best to take them out. Of course there are risks like any surgery. I always though that a tonsilectomy was a simple nothing can go wrong procedure. I was wrong. They don't take it lightly at all. Hopefully Taylor is not one of the kids that bleeds lots after and has complications. I have faith in God that she is in good hands and will be well taken care of. Still scary when it's your kid.

Potty training is going. Not terribly but not great. He is having accidents but he is getting better about going on the potty and not in his underwear. It will be so nice to have no swim diapers this summer.

Running is going. It's been kind of a slack week. It's sometimes hard working my training around Chris' schedule but I do what I can.

All in all we are doing good. Can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can play outside more.

Question/Poll

Wondering what my fellow runners out there eat. Specifically the night before a big race, the morning of, and after.

The reason I ask is I ran the longest distance I have ever run yet and it is not the full race distance. As I was finishing I was starving. I though I ate enough but I guess not. I want to know how to power through.

6 things

I was tagged by Heather to tell 6 random things about me.

1. I like my shoulders.

2. On my so called run yesterday I saw an ugg style kids boot and a croc, on the side of the road.  How does that happen?

3. I had another cupcake order for Tuesday. The birthday girl loved them. (Pictures to follow.)

4. I'm training for a race but not going to say which one so that I don't jinx myself. Silly I know.

5. I wish my house was tidyier. The kids are getting better about putting their stuff away, but not great.

6. Potty training sucks. We have 1 diaper left so Spencer is part of potty training boot camp. We have pull ups but those are suppose to be for bedtime and outings.

Now I have to tag some people. Karri, Chrissy, Tammy and Beth

Bad run

I've been running again. Training for a race actually. I've had some great runs the last few weeks. Knees have been feeling great. Then I go today and wham it's super crap. Had to walk a bunch. I was very discouraged. How will I run a super long distance if I can't run 10k. I realize I've been able to run farther but it is amazing how 1 run can make me feel so upset. Thankfully I have a very supportive and encouraging husband who calms me down and reminds me that tomorrows run will be better. Everyone has bad running days so I have to keep telling myself that.

Anyway. Kids are great. Although I wish they would clean up better. I'm in a throw stuff out kind of mood so they better watch out if they don't clean up. :) Speaking of cleaning I should probably go tidy up my stuff (laundry). Gotta set a good example.

Before I go one last thing. Spencer has been talking up a storm and it is nice now that he can express himself, like last night. Around 9 he stopped in his tracks and said, "My tummy hurts". You might be thinking okay great Kirsten thanks for telling us this. Let me tell you it saved me a lot of clean up. Because he can talk I was able to only get half the puke on the carpet. Tile is much easier to clean up. Poor kid. Feels good today. Hopefully it was a freak thing for him and we all don't get something AGAIN.

Goodnight!
