He's just short

So I was asked, again, last night if Quinten is ever going to grow. I really am starting to wonder myself. I look at other peoples blogs and their kids who are quite a bit younger are bigger than he is. He is wearing clothes that I bought last year at this time. And no I did not buy big. They are the size I thought he would be wearing last year. He will be 20 months on the 12th and he still wearing 6-9 month clothes. And they aren't small. I know it saves on money but seriously. At 18 months Taylor was 21 pounds 1 ounce and 30 inches. At 18 months Quint was 21 pounds 7 ounces and 29 1/2 inches. He doesn't look any chubbier but definately looks shorter. Maybe he will have a wicked growth spurt in a couple of years. No matter what size he his, we still think he is super cute. I think his shortness adds to that. We love you buddy.

A firsts kind of weekend

Friday night Taylor went to her first birthday party, without us. She did great. Chris said she was a little apprehensive at first but was fine. He took her down to that party. Surprise, surprise stuff like that is hard for me. (Sorry Nathan) Then Saturday she played soccer without Chris having to be by her side the whole time. Boy did she make us proud. No crying, nothing like that. She did however pick at the grass and picked dandelions for her coaches. Such a caring kid. Then today Chris gave Quint his first at home haircut. I think Chris has a new career if he ever wants a change. And it actually turned out better than the last couple of haircuts he's had at the salon. Buying the clippers is going to be an investment. Taylor wanted her haircut but not with scissors. She will probably continue to go to Beaners. And this evening we had a nice visit with Joy and Darrin. Good job on the win Joy. (Weplayed Settlers). A good time was had by all.
We had a good weekend I hope you all did too.
On a side note our couches come tomorrow. Then I think I can post pictures of our house.
Till then I will leave you with a few haircut pics.
Pre haircut

He didn't seem to mind the clippers but really didn't like the scissors. He sat way better for Chris than at Beaners. Post home haircut

Houdini Cont'd...

Seriously we try everything but Quint can still get his diaper off. The other day I had him duct taped and he got it off and his clothes off. Luckly his diaper was still on because he had pooped. Then yesterday he was down for a nap. Chris got him up and didn't notice anything till I picked him up and noticed he stank and had no diaper on. He was wearing a sleeper. He had got it undone and pushed it down to his feet. How does he do it? I'm not sure what to try next. I'm getting sick of doing the extra laundry.

Bye, Bye old house

It was a sad night last night as we finished vacuuming the old house, took some pictures and said goodbye. Of course it wasn't completed without Taylor peeing her pants. We didn't have any other clothes so Chris made her a dress out of shirt he had in the car. She wasn't happy about it but it beats not wearing anything. As of today we own one house only. Yeah!!!!!! Taylor really wanted to say goodbye to the house so we did that. Here are a few pictures of our goodbyes.

Of course I got a little teary. There were alot of firsts at that house. It was our first house, we brought Quinten home from the hospital, Chris built the fence, planted the grass, spent weeks working on developing the basement, a whole ton of paint was used, therefore hours of painting. We put a lot of work. And we can't forget the cherry tree. We'll have to get another one for sure. Now we will continue to make memories here at our new home. And start the building process again. More fences, grass, basements. Hopefully no paint in the near future.

Duct Tape

Is is sad that a 3 year old knows that her brother needs duct tape to keep his pants on? Or do we use it too much? It helps though so we will keep doing it.

Latest belly pic

So a number of people have asked for an updated belly picture. I took 2 pictures and this one is a little fuzzy but Chris is working in the background so I had to post it. I am now 20 and 1/2 weeks. I'm smaller than I was with the other 2. I don't know how much I have gained because my doctor does not do weight anymore.Taylor really wanted to have a bath in the big bath so we let them today. They thought they were in a pool. A good time was had by all. Here are a couple of pics.
We had a better day than yesterday. Yesterday was a very long day. It was nice to spend the afternoon with the Aitkenheads. And then supper at my parents house. Ended the weekend off nicely.

We'll never get to go...

to church again, is what Taylor said to me today. Chris worked till 3:00am this morning and then got a call at 6:45am to go back in. He thought he would only be a few hours, so I got the kids ready for church and when the time came to leave he was still not home I had to to break the news to Taylor that we couldn't go to church. She wasn't very happy with this news. I tried to explain to her that it was only this week and we could go next week. It makes me happy that she wants to go to church and is sad when she can't. Then out of the blue she said I have a good idea, we could take the wagon. What a cutie. Always thinking. So we stayed home and tried to entertain ourselves. Chris didn't get home till about 3:30pm. I guess the rest of the day is shot because I'm sure he will be sleeping the day away. Oh the joys. Maybe some ice cream will help. It always seems to help at other times. Hope everyone is having a wonderful rainy day.

Growly McGrowlerson

I know Devin hates it when I use the same word for both names but too bad. Lately I've thought we have a wild animal living in our house but it is just Quint. It seems as though he would rather growl than talk. It's really quite cute but it's got to hurt his throat after awhile. You'd think anyway. But no he keeps doing it. Maybe it's his way of showing his manly side. And if he's not growling he's screaming. Happy screams of course. I'm surprised I can hear by the end of the day. Today has been a day of unpacking and moving boxes to there designated areas. Don't worry I don't lift the really heavy ones. McDonalds is in order I think and the rest of the day just relaxing as a fam. Hope everyone is having a wonderful long weekend, even if the weather sucks.

New Goal

Well I'm not sure it should be a goal, but I'll say it is. I've noticed that people aren't blogging as much anymore. I miss reading everybodies blogs. So I am going to try and make an effort to blog more often. It is hard when the weather is so nice, but there is always at night. For the last few days we have been enjoying the sun. Therefore the laundry has backed up, yet again. Tonight is designated laundry finishing up night. Chris is working so it's just the kids and I. It seems like it has been awhile since he worked at night. At least I can fall asleep in front of the tv and won't get harassed for it.
Well that's all for now.

Early Reader

Because of the kids sharing a room we try to get Quint to bed before Taylor. That way the playing time is, hopefully, eliminated. When Taylor went to bed this is how we found Quint.

He asks everynight for a book. He doesn't look that comfortable but he kept sleeping even with all the Taylor noise. Things are going well in the our household. I think the kids are finally adjusting to sharing a room. Although we do split them up for the afternoon nap/quiet time session. And today they were up at 6:30. What is up with that? I hope that doesn't become the norm. Other than enjoying the sun nothing new has really happened lately.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day Mom! And Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there. And for the first time Mom's, Happy First Mother's Day. I know it is tomorrow, but I wanted to post before I got too busy spending time with my kids. That's my favorite thing to do on Mother's Day. Do the run and then just spend the day as a family. Who cares about the gifts. I love the homemade cards. I know the love has been put into it. And a bonus is that Chris already committed to changing all the diapers tomorrow. Woo hoo! So I hope all the Mom's out there have a great day.

Construction Zone

It seems to be a construction zone inside and out. Our oven works but now the microwave does not. I have to be so organized because I can't rely on the microwave to defrost. I know, it was a way of life back in the olden days.
We had our ultrasound on Monday and everything looks good. I'm 19 weeks today. I haven't felt the baby move yet but that is because I have an anterior ( closer to the top of my stomach) baby food supply. I don't know if anybody would be grossed out by using the proper term. My doc said it might take a bit longer to feel the baby.
Things are going well with the kids. They are still getting used to sharing a room. We've had to seperate them the last couple of nights. I'm finding they are getting a bit grouchy so they definately need more sleep. Hopefully the novelty will wear off, soon.
That's all I have for now. Sunday is Mother's Day and I am really looking forward to Chris doing all the diapers (yeah right!) and spending time with my fam.

Teeth and Soccer

Sorry no house pictures yet. I want the house to be a bit more organized. I will say I love my new shower. I love that I don't have to step on kids toys or try to find a good position to sit down. Chris and I like to sit in the shower. Our new shower has a seat in it. It's great. So relaxing. There is so much that I love. I can't wait to cook using my new stove/oven. I've used the stove but our oven doesn't seem to be working. The groat is still wrong in a couple of spots and when we moved in our water heater didn't work. We have soccer tomorrow and I can't wait to see how she plays tomorrow. And now the pictures.

New house & Facebook

The new house is great. Slowly getting unpacked. Quinten fell out of his crib yesterday. The kids love sharing a room. The first night was rough but last night was awesome. I will post pictures once I find the cord.
Yesterday I decided to join the facebook goings on. I can see how people get addicted to it. I'm still learning the ins and outs of it.
That's all I have for now. Nothing super exciting. Kids are trying to climbing on the mountain of boxes. Better rescue them before another tooth is knocked out.
