Construction Zone

It seems to be a construction zone inside and out. Our oven works but now the microwave does not. I have to be so organized because I can't rely on the microwave to defrost. I know, it was a way of life back in the olden days.
We had our ultrasound on Monday and everything looks good. I'm 19 weeks today. I haven't felt the baby move yet but that is because I have an anterior ( closer to the top of my stomach) baby food supply. I don't know if anybody would be grossed out by using the proper term. My doc said it might take a bit longer to feel the baby.
Things are going well with the kids. They are still getting used to sharing a room. We've had to seperate them the last couple of nights. I'm finding they are getting a bit grouchy so they definately need more sleep. Hopefully the novelty will wear off, soon.
That's all I have for now. Sunday is Mother's Day and I am really looking forward to Chris doing all the diapers (yeah right!) and spending time with my fam.

I will probably be grossed out but now I'm curious about the proper name for the baby food supply.

I just thought of you when I remembered that I had forgotten to take out the chicken for tonights dinner...But since you're microwave doesn't work I thought I would pass along this handy little tidbit.
Take your frozen meat and put it in a water/air tight bag ie. ziplock. put it in a bowl (or sink) and fill it (the bowl, not the bag) up with hot water...tap water usually does the trick. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and voila! defrosted meat!

I never use the microwave for defrosting as I find it tends to cook things and make them hard and rubbery...Yuck!

So it doesn't require being organised 6 hours or so before dinner...just 30 minutes! Good luck! E x
