why do you fail me so?
I love Starbucks but lately I've been really frustrated with them. I have now had 3 drinks that tasted like crap. And I never find that out till I get home.
I was given a bunch of gift cards for Christmas. Last week I went and had $.90 on one and $30 on another. So I used up the $0.90 and gave the $30 one for the balance. I was given a card back and didn't think anything of it till I went to use it the other day. Nothing on the card. So the last chick gave me the wrong card back. Me being the chicken I am didn't ask to speak to the manager because this girl said she couldn't do anything about it.
So yesterday I got up the nerve to ask if there was anything that could be done. I was given a number to call. Hopefully they will be willing to give me a new card. If not I might have to take a Starbucks break. Because I don't want to pay, with my own money, for crappy drinks. Why can't they get it right. It's not like I order something crazy.
I really enjoy their coffee.

Not that this helps right now, but next time you get a Starbucks card, it might help if you register it (and perhaps record the number of it somewhere). Then you can call the number right away, they can cancel the card and I think send you a new one.
I hope it all works out. Stand your ground. Especially on the phone...you don't have to look at them or ever see them again. It was the employee's fault NOT YOURS.

Man they should totally give you a new card. They could afford $25 O think!! Who thinks to record the number from their gift card, but I guess that would be the smart thing.
I'm sure you like more of the coffee drinks which I don't but I like hot chocolate, and I was trying different ones out and starbucks was NOT great, but second cup, oh yum, they use milk in theirs and the vanilla bean HC is really yummy, try that out sometime!!
WE are taking a financial course and we learned last night that if you spend $5 a day on coffee from the age of 16 - 76, you will have spent $19,371,943. CRAZY huh?! Just thought you might like to know that little fact. We are trying to rid ourselves of debt and so we are cutting back a lot! I would have said something to the manager right away because that is a gift and who wants to spend that much on coffee anyway?? Next year you should just ask for a special latte/cappucino maker for Christmas...haha!
First things first....
ALWAYS try your drink before you leave. I have realized this for myself cause you just never know. Sometimes you have either a new barista who made the drink wrong or it is usually because the espresso shots are too strong. It is always important to let them know that because it usaully means that something needs to be adjusted with their espresso machine. I know this because Chris fixes those very machines on a daily basis.
As for the gift card that sucks. I would definitly go back to the same store if I were you and talk to the manager and see what can be done because clearly it was because one of their employees screwed up. Chris says otherise to call the customer service 1 800 number and they should be accomodating.
I did speak to the manager at that store and was told to call the
1-800 number. I'm getting free drink coupons. I will for sure be registering my gift cards next time.
ahh but if that $19 000 dollars over your lifetime brings you great happiness...why not?
for some, that latte might represent stopping and doing something just for them. I figure that 10 minutes of "me-time" every day over that latte would be worth $19 000 in the long run.
(mind you, i don't have the money for $5/day...so I'm more likely to have 2 a week. and boy are they worth it)

Tammy I am with Kristen on this one. lol. Sorry. By the time I save up that coffee money each day to see how much I will have when I am in my late stages of life and have no time to enjoy that money anwyays...I would rather enjoy the latte everyday ;)
I just did the math and I am pretty sure that if you had a coffee that was $5.00 each for 365 days a year that would be $1825. If you multiply that over 60 years that would be $109,500. That is not quite $19,000,000.
maybe if you invested that $5 a day? (when i did the math that was all i could come up with too)
