Update

I've been a bad blogger lately. I used to be crazy blogger, blogging a couple of times a day. I guess my life just hasn't been super exciting lately. In my previous post I had a picture of Taylor with blue all over her. I bought the kids a tattoo stamp kit before summer and she likes to stamp her self and then color them in. Well she went a little crazy. Which I don't care. it's washable and she's just a kid. She might as well have some fun with them. We were getting ready to go out and didn't want to go so she started crying. That is why she has blue all over her face.

More has been done on the house. Now it's crunch time for Chris to finish our basement. He has made some really good progress. Tomorrow is our lighting appointment, watching Chris play hockey, and buying some much needed chair covers for our kitchen chairs. Now they won't look so gross. Having kids can sure wrecked the furniture. Good thing I don't have expensive taste.

So that is our lives for the next day. Hopefully I will get the Christmas decorations up the in the next few days. Then we'll get our tree on Saturday, and decorate it on Sunday. I love the time spendt with family doing that kind of stuff. It's what makes memories and traditions. It's cool that our little family is coming up with some of our own traditions.

I will leave you with a few pictures. The one with the kids in the bath looks like they are bathing in 2000 flushes.

21 days till Jordan comes home.

22 days till Dev comes home.

And I don't know how many days till Kristen comes home but I am super excited to see all of them.

YEAH!!!!

Hair today gone tomorrow

So I did it. I had my haircut. Actually it's not a big deal at all. I love changing things up. I did take pictures but keep in mind that it is almost 9:45 pm and I took the pictures myself using a mirror. I will also leave you with some pictures of my kids.

My hair needs help

I've decided that I am so sick of wearing my hair in a pony tail. I have made a hair appointment for Friday and have till then to find something that I really like. My favorite hairstyle was the classic bob. A little bit shorter at the back to give it shape and then longer in front. I'm not a huge fan of layers so I think I will asked for minimal layers or non at all. If anybody has any ideas, JENN.
I would love to see or hear them.

Yesterday we had our interior appointment for the new house. Who knew we had to pick so much. We even got to pick what color grout we wanted for our ceramic tile. And even with the upgrades we picked I think we will come out getting money back. Chris had originally said we would have an oak railing but we changed our minds to go with white because of the baseboards being white. And our cupboards are maple not oak and that would have been even more money to upgrade to maple. It's amazing how much we had to upgrade. And we didn't even go with the most expensive stuff. I'm sure they do that on purpose because they know nobody wants a lot of the standards. We will probably change stuff as we live in the house but for now we did the upgrades that couldn't be done later, and that we really cared about. We have 2 more appointments to go. Lighting and a place called digital imaging. I guess they do the cable outlets and stuff like that. I've heard the lighting can be costly. Most people like to upgrade those.
That's all for now.

No hole

We went show home looking to get some ideas for our interior. We have that appointment tomorrow. After we thought well lets go check out our lot and see if they have dug the hole yet. Well they've done more than that. The foundation has been poured. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get a hole picture but super happy that we have a foundation. Here is a picture of our non hole.

Banff or Bust

So yesterday I went shopping, looking for more Christmas presents. I went into Children's Place, of course. Taylor found this hat and would not take it off. It actually looked so cute on her the way she had put it on. I bought it for her. It was only $5 and I thought it would a little something to her Christmas outfit. She did not take it off all day. As you can see she wanted to wear it to bed.

Today Chris was off so we thought a little road trip to Banff was in order. We hit the usual stores bought a few stocking stuffers and of course bought Murtles. If you've read a previous post you will know how much I love murtles. I have to cut it up to eat now because of the braces but still oh so good. That's all for now. Nothing terribly exciting going on around here. Maybe tomorrow. Till then.

It's Fort time

She I said fort time not fart time. Who do you think I am? Okay so I would talk about farts but not today. The other night Chris was working late, again, and Taylor was asking for him so I thought that night would be the perfect night to make a fort. Taylor was so excited about it. She didn't really want me to go in it but she really wanted QuinQuin to play in it with her. Although he didn't really care for the fort. Pictures to follow.
On another note, has anybody else noticed how Christmas has becoming so much about the gifts? Don't get me wrong, I do like gifts, especially giving them. Why is everyone so focused on getting the most expensive gift or the most gifts? Are we forgetting what Christmas is really about? The birth of Jesus. I'm not trying to preach because I know that I am one of those who can't wait to buy the perfect gift for everyone. I must be getting older because I am just really excited about seeing my brothers and sister-in-law. The gifts are nice, but the time spent with family is so much better. We have a lot of traditions in our family and I can't wait to do those things. I've been thinking a lot about this and felt the need to get it off my chest. I hope everyone has a great Christmas season and takes the time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

Now I will leave you with some fort pictures.

Come on QuinQuin come in my fort.

Don't go QuinQuin.

The cranks

So we didn't end up having to take the kids to the doctor. Our family doc will be at work the week so if they aren't showing signs of improvement on Monday I will take them to Dr. J. Taylor had her good moments today and we thought she was feeling better, but then the cranks came back. And Quinten, I don't know what his deal is. He seems to be Mr. Cranks lately. Maybe he is always hungry but doesn't want to eat. I hope we get to the bottom of this. Although he has been sleeping a ton. If he's not eating, which isn't very much, he is sleeping. Maybe he is trying to grow. Or maybe not.
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments. I hopw the kids are feeling better soon so I can get back to our regular posts. I haven't had any poop pictures lately. Or stories for that matter.
On another note Chris and I were able to go shopping sans kids this afternoon. We got a lot accomplished. Bought 4 stockings and few more Christmas presents. I am going to be done before I know it. For the last few years we have been trying to buy these special stockings and we always end up at the store to late in the season. This year I was on top of it and now we all have a stocking. Yeah! I know, what a nerd for getting so excited over stockings. What can I say.

Well I don't have much else to tell. I hope everyone has a great Saturday. Till I write again.
Later!
Peace out!
Thanks Joy and Tanya for coming over tonight for a little visit. And for the gingerbread latte.
I feel like I haven't seen you guys in awhile.

Finally

I finally had an eggnog latte in a Christmas cup. I did buy the reduced fat kind. I will say this, not as good as the full fat version. I might have to treat myself once in awhile for a full fat one. I was still yummy.
Just as when we thought our house was done being sick another one falls ill. Quinten has had, you guessed it, diarreha for the last week. We are having him checked tomorrow. And now Taylor is sick again. My mom and I went shopping today and she was fine till near the end of our shopping adventures. We have this attachment for the stroller that she calls her skateboard. She laid down on that for awhile and then fell asleep in the stroller. So not like her. Then we got home and I could understand a word she was saying and she had a temp of 39.9. It really scared me. She now has a temp of 40 so according to health link we might have to take her in tonight. I hope not. I always get so worried when my kids are sick. Especially when they aren't acting like themselves and are really lethargic. I never know what to do. How long do you wait to have them looked at? And it doesn't matter how long you wait to see someone, as soon as you get to the doctor's office them seem to be better. I guess we'll see if Quinten does have something or is just sick with a cold. I know I'm a worrier so it is good that I have Chris to keep me balanced.
Well till tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

I'm so disappointed

Starbucks is starting to make me a little upset. Yesterday Heather came for Tuesday night dinner and brought me an eggnog latte from the Strarbucks by our house. She had to tell them how to make it and they still didn't get it right. So today being Wednesday, and I was told I could get a festive drink today, I went to Starbucks. Yet to be disappointed again. I was told tomorrow I could get one. Why is it that everybody else is serving them but the one by my house? Are they waiting for the Christmas cup? Who knows. All I have to say is that I was super disappointed. I was really looking forward to an eggnog or gingerbread latte. Yvonne can you ask Chris about it? I'm so frustrated. Anyway.
Happy Birthday Desiree. I hope you get spoiled.
That's all for now. My mom is about to give me a lesson on making Christmas cake.

Who will have more fun? Me or kids

I decided to open Quinten's tickle me elmo last night. I wanted to make sure it worked. I would be distraught if it didn't work on Christmas morning. Who knew 2 adults could laugh so hard at a kids toy. He really is funny and it is super cool that he falls down and then rights himself. Oh the fun I'm, I mean the kids are going to have on Christmas morning.

2 more days till Starbucks Christmas drinks. Seen as our Starbucks seems to be the only one not serving the special drinks. Meh..

Later!
Peace out!

I loves Chocolate

Last night, at church, was a death by chocolate event. Everybody was to bring a chocolate something and there was a chocolate fountain. Everything was so good. I hadn't really eaten very much yesterday because of the ol' braces, so i didn't feel too guilty about indulging. As things were winding up, some of the kids came downstairs. One of those kids being mine. I could not pry her away from the chocolate fountain. I think we have fondue too much because she knew just what to do. Dip in the fruit and tap off the excess. Everyone that was left was so amazed at how much she ate. They all thought we were in for a long night of no sleep. She went right to sleep and she even slept in this morning. So chocolate before bed from now on.
I was reading Liz and K's blogs this aft. They were taking about getting their first Starbucks festive drink for the season. I said to myself, self you need an eggnog latte. Off I went all excited for my first festive drink of the season. No such luck. The barista informed me they can't sell them till Wednesday. She didn't know why others were able to. So I had to get a pumpkin spice latte. Don't get me wrong they are good but they stain the elastics on my braces a nice orange color. So Wednesday is the day. Joy lets do coffee that day.
That's all for now. Quinten is still sick and Taylor is being her usual goofy self.
Later!
Peace out!

TMX

I never thought I would stand in line for a toy. Luckly I didn't have to stand long. I inquired, yesterday, at ToysRus when they would be getting more Tickle me Elmo's in. I was told I would have to line up at 9:30am Saturday morning. There I would receive a ticket to purchase the said toy. I got there at 9:05 am and everybody was already lined up and starting to move in. So what do I do. I paniced for a second. What if I don't get one. It's really not that big of a deal. Quinten doesn't even know they exist. Luckly I got a ticket and purchased TMX. It is pretty cool. The things we do for our kids. Getting up early on a Saturday morning just to buy a toy. It's worth it though. To see their smiling faces when they get something unexpected. So far that has been the highlight of my day. Maybe there will be more to come.

Just call me brace face

It's official. I can now be called brace face. This morning I became the recipient of some fine metal brackets on my bottom teeth. Plus some lovely blue stuff on2 molars to build them up. Bite plate right Joy? That's so I don't bite the bottom braces off. I have a deep bite? Right Joy? Something like that. It is going to take a bit to get used the bite plate. Eating is weird.
Went shopping this morning and got myself a new touque, finally. I don't know if my head has grown or what but I can't seem to fit in any of our touques. I think my head is even bigger than Chris's. That's not saying much. His head is pretty small. I also got Taylor a new winter jacket. She has finally out grown her 18 month one. We probably could have gotten away with a few more wears but her wrists would have been pretty cold. Then it was off to Little Nathan's birthday party. Happy birthday little buddy! And now home. Time to make my treats for Death by Chocolate, at the church. Till tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

The Gas We Pass

Sounds like a book title huh! Well it is and yes we do own it thanks to Jordan. Why does it seem that one always seems to get gas during a workout? It always seems to happen when I'm right in the middle of 2 people and nobody is on either side of them. Does this happen to anybody else? At least they didn't smell. I hope they weren't noisy. I had my music playing pretty loud so I wouldn't know even if I was loud. It is embarrasing. I don't mind doing it in front of my friends but strangers I just can't handle it.
On another note, Taylor has been so nice to Quinten lately. I know that I have posted before about how nice she can be, but this is different. Yesterday Quinten was crying, in the car, and she leaned over, put her hand on his leg and said it's okay bud don't cry. Shocker I got a little teary. She is so caring towards him. I hope it continues as they grow up. And she is constantly wanting him to play in her room. I've peaked in a few times and they are actually playing. She'll be reading to him or showing him stuff. It so nice to see. So far my kids get along pretty well. Don't get me wrong they do have their fights. Especially when it comes to sheepy. That's a whole other topic. I look forward to them growing up together and being friends not just siblings.
I don't have much else to say tonight. So I will say the usual.
Later!
Peace out!
