Happy Birthday Spence!

Today my next birthday baby turns 2. 2 years really?! Where has the time gone? It's amazing how much he has grown even in the last year. The things he can say and comprehend. There is one thing I would change though. The screaming. He is out of control with it. I don't know if it is the third kid trying to be heard or what. I'm hoping he gets it out of system soon. Everything else is great with him. I love hearing all the new words he is learning daily and how independent he is becoming. It's weird to me that there won't be anymore little lobbsters running around. This is time of year when I would have given birth and 2 years is the mark. We are excited to move on as a family and see what new joys our kids can bring.

Cupcakes and Birthday

On Sunday we had Taylor's party and 17 kids came for a pool party. At Inglewood pool you get a room for an hour and then the pool all to yourself. It was great. The kids had a good time and so did the adults that helped out. I would definately do another party there. Quinten wants his party there now but it's too late seen as the boys' party is this Saturday and it's already planned for a hockey party. I was asked what I did for the invitations. So for the pool party invites I wrote the invite details on a beach ball and for the hockey party I made up invitations that looked like hockey tickets.

Taylor took owl cupcakes to school for her actual birthday and Sunday's party she had asked for shark cupcakes. I've been asked by a couple of friends if I would do their kids birthday cupcakes/cakes. What a great way for me to bring in a little extra money and do something that I absolutely love. So we'll see what happens with that. I am very open to the idea.

Now the plans are in the works for Saturday's cupcakes or cake. I might attempt making my own fondant. We'll see. Could be interesting.

Once again before I get some comments like I've received in the past about trying to one up or show off, that is so not my intent. I love doing this and have been asked to post the pictures. I know I like looking at other peoples creations so therefore I will share mine with you.

1 week old

Today my oldest turned 6. Hard to believe that the moderately tiny 6 week early baby would grow up to be the girl we know today. We are so proud of you Taylor in who you are and who you are becoming. We love you so much! Happy Birthday my sweet girl!

Taylor took owl cupcakes to school today and was very excited that her teacher has the same birthday. It was nice that they could celebrate together.

Tonight we went to the beach to have an impromptu celebration. Chris is working and so is my mom so we will celebrate on Sunday night as a family. She calls it her fake birthday. We had a great time at the beach too bad the wasps were out.

Anyway another successful birthday season birthday. (as some have come to call it.)

Why do I do this to myself?

Kid birthday season is 3 sleeps away. Ask Taylor she is all to happy to share that info. I've got 2 sets of cupcakes to make and decorate this week. And then another set next week and another set a the week after. Taylor keeps changing her mind about the school cupcakes. I think I've got her down to owls but I'm sure that will change again. And the party cupcakes are hopefully going to be sharks, that is if I don't screw it up. The hockey party cupcakes are still in the thought process. Anyone know a good fondant recipe? And then I'm thinking for Quinten's actually birthday turkey cake or cupcakes would be good because his birthday is on Thanksgiving Monday. I know it would be easier to purchase said cupcakes but I really enjoy making them even if I get a bit stressed out. Good thing I'm not running in the harvest half, not sure where the time would come to do it all.
Anyway that is how my week is shaping up. And on a side note. Thank you to everyone who comes to our kids' parties. I know it can be an inconvience coming to 3 kids parties all right in a row. In the words of Taylor good thing we are having a joint party for one of the parties. She likes to say good thing alot.

Have a happy week. Be sure to get out in the beautiful weather. Never thought we would be celebrating our 6 year olds birthday at the beach. Love the hot fall weather.

ENT here we come....again

Stil no movement on Taylor's ear drums. Which most likely means fluid and there for she can't hear where she should be. Hopefully we'll get more answers in October when we go back to the ENT.

Things are going along nicely in Lobbster household. Parties are being finalized. Although I haven't heard from everyone yet. Cupcakes/cakes are being planned.
It will be a busy week of preparation that's for sure.

We have a weekend of parties that the kids are going to. But other than that should be a relaxing one.

A Poll

Do you leave the toilet seat up or down when you are finished?

3rd times the charm lets hope

Today is another hearing test for Taylor. We're hoping things have changed. We've been going to various appointments since feb/mar. We did see a specialist but he wants another hearing test. I know Taylor is getting frustrated. We just want to know what the problem could be. And maybe now there isn't a problem. That would ideal. I'll update after the appointment.

500

I didn't even notice that on Saturday was my 500th post. I would have made it a better post if had known instead of my lame cleaning one.

I've been doing a lot of reflecting on what I want in life, where I fit in, how to overcome my feelings toward myself etc. But as I started to type I looked down at my youngest and he flashes me a smile and it clicks for me. I have 3 amazing children who light up my life. I want the world for them, they accept me for who I am so I don't have to try to fit in with them and they don't look at me and think man my mom needs to lose some weight etc. They love me for me. It's amazing what a smile or an I love you can do. Why has it taken me till this very moment over the last few weeks to realize it? I don't know but I'm glad Spencer and I are having a moment to ourselves. Don't get me wrong it will take time for me to truly be comfortable with me but I'm on my way. And I must say the little I love you from Spencer is so darn cute you just can't be sad.

So if you are ever feeling the same way just take a step back and look for that smile.

3 drop offs in a row

No tears from either Taylor or mommy. What a difference Taylor has been the last 3 school mornings. Her teacher is awesome with it too. Emailing to make sure everything is going okay and asking if she can do anything to help. It makes this mama feel better after I turn that corner for home.

I have nothing too exciting to tell. We had a weekend without Daddy so lets just say the patience level around the lobbster shack was very low. But daddy is home today and spending some much needed time with the boys.

How was your weekend? Do anything fun or exciting?

cure for the madness

I think I've figured it out. If I can keep the house some what organized my patience level won't get low. Now to get the kids on track. That might take a bit.

Going mad

It seems lately I have no patience. Although it seems to be better if the house is organized, which seems to be hardly ever. I made good progress today and then tornado Quinten and tornado Spencer came through. So frustrating.

Today has been a day of laundry followed by playing at the park before picking up Taylor and then more park play while it seemed some one was always screaming. Then if I wasn't going crazy enough I took them to the grocery store to get cupcake supplies. And to top off the evening, which isn't even done yet, Spencer had a giant poop in the tub. Sickarama! Good times! I do love being a stay at home mom but sometimes my patience is definately tested.

Happy Bertday Coconut!

That is how Chris was greeted yesterday by Quinten. Yes I am a day late posting but we were spending the day together so not much computer time. Happy Birthday My Sweets!

We got back late Monday night from our Toronto adventures. Now for point form. Too much stuff happened to write real sentences.
- Arrive late Tuesday night and thought we didn't have a rental car. Found the right place.
-Got lost going to Chris' uncles from the airport.
-slept in the next day till about 10. Since when does a mom of 3 get to do that.
-hung out, saw friends
-walked yonge street, queen street, actually we walked alot but also ate alot so no pounds lost
-had a sick toddler, I guess I have to face the fact he is not a baby anymore. boohoo!
-rehersal and dinner at a yummy brazilian bbq place (Red Violin)
-Canada's wonderland, scary roller coaster calle the behemouth (probably spelling it wrong) Chris laughed at me the whole time. I thought I might cry.
-got sick at Canada's Wonderland. Rides and Kirsten's tummy don't really mix.
-Blue Jays game with awesome seats. Row 15 right behind the Jays dug out.
-Crazy bee at the game. I think the bees liked Kristen.
-slept in till 11. Awesome!
-My baby brother's wedding and reception. Too bad Spencer wasn't feeling so great because he was not a happy camper.
-Brunch with the Tronsgard clan minus Devin, Liz, Craig, Taylor and Quinten
-More driving and might I just add that it is not normal driving. Man thems some crazy drivers and lots of them.
-More feeling sick from the driving.
-ROM where we saw the dead sea scrolls
-air show which a certain toddler (not baby boohoo) didn't like too much.
-airport where said toddler was screaming and I'm sure everyone around us thought I hope he's not on our plane.
-no worries because he slept pretty much the whole way home. YEAH!!!!!!
-Oh forgot about the lady hitting a raccoon.

It's good to be back. Now I just wish Taylor would go back to easy drop offs. Roxanne might have to start taking her. :)

And I can't end till I say Happy 60th Birthday Auntie Beth!

In TO

We're here. We're having a good time. No screaming from Spencie on the plane. Thank goodness. Yesterday was kind of a lazy day and today is when all the fun starts. At little shopping down Young Street and going to Queen street and then wedding dinner stuff. Tomorrow is Canada's Wonderland and Jays game.
The only down side to the trip is that Spencer has developed a fever and we can't seem to get it down even with Tylenol. Hopefully is will be feeling better soon.

Anyway just a quick update. More to come as the fun continues.
