New Mower

We finally bought a new mower today. We had a hand me down electric one in our other house but it didn't get to come with us. We've been borrowing our neighbours lawnmower, but will no longer have to. We didn't get a fancy gas or electric. It's a good ol' reel mower. I actually had fun cutting the grass tonight.

Day 3 of potty training went well. Quinten was dry the last 2 nights hopefully tonight it continues.

Yeay Quinten!

Is your mower hard to use? How very environmentally friendly of you!

It can be hard to push in some spots depending how low the wheels are.

I was thinking of getting one of those mowers. We have a gas one which I can never start. Travis usually mows but he waits until the grass is so long that we have to empty it 3 times. I hate that. If we had a push mower I could keep the grass mowed much easier I think.

yay on the new mower. I have never used one of those before. We have a gas with auto drive, I love it, cause I can mow and it drives for me and I just guide it. Which is great for how much grass we have!!

Hey Miranda, how come you don't grasscycle?? You know you're supposed to leave the clippings on your grass, it's healthier for your lawn because it evaporates into water in a couple days back into the air and lawn. Once I heard you're supposed to leave it we haven't bagged it since, which has been since we've owned our own place. Edmonton advertises all over the city to 'grasscycle'. It's so much easier, try it next time:)

I do grasscycle actually. However, when Travis leaves to get that long it's pretty nasty to leave that much of the clippings! and the kids want to play in the yard too and I don't want them tracking all that grass in the house. Then there's Isabelle's allergies and asthma...
If he actually mowed often enough we could grasscycle all the time.

You're right Miranda, you do have to do it often if you're going to grasscycle, or it is nasty on the lawn when it is big and clumpy!!
I was only sharing what I have learned in recent years, I always thought you HAD to bag it, I never knew any differently. I find it so much easier to not have to bag and dump. Wasn't trying to tell anyone to do it ONE way, sorry if I came across that way:) Just tried to give a tip to lessen the work when mowing the lawn!!
