Monkey cake

So I made a monkey cake for Quinten's party on Friday. I am doing a monkey theme for the kid party as well, but this cake took a lot of time to make. And it is a lot of cake for kids. I was thinking about making cupcakes. I am telling you all this because I need some ideas on how to decorate them. I've found a few web sites with ideas but I was wondering what you all thought. If you have an idea let me know. I would love to hear from you. (I'm no cake decorator so don't make fun if you think I suck.)

I think the cake is great!!!!!!!
I will think about going to the Temple that weekend...my in-laws are back from Newfoundland that week and will probably be going so maybe we'll go with them. I'd love to see you.

The cake looks good. Cupcakes could be decorated in the same way. Use the yellow icing and then put the face on with black, stick a couple small cookies in the sides for ears.

half digestive cookies or whatever those oval ones are might work well for the ears on cupcakes...

the cake was not only cool looking, but also delicious!

Wow, that's impressive. All I ever got were circles with Happy Birthday on them. I used to be grateful for those, till I saw the Monkey Cake. Now I know my mom could have tried so much harder.
