Another year come and gone

Wow I can't believe that 2006 will be over in a matter of hours. Where did the year go? It's been a great year and hopefully 2007 will be just as great. As promised here are some Christmas pictures and gingerbread house decorating pics too. Every year my mom makes gingerbread houses and we decorate them. My mom also invites different families every year and this year Steven, Susan, Joshua and Caleb came. A good time was had by all. Joshua and Taylor were so fun to watch. I think they ate more candy than was put on their houses. I love candy so I too ate a little as I was decorating. I'm such a kid. I hope that never ends.
And because we have been so busy with the Christmas season and hanging out with family I forgot to post yesterday. Happy Anniversary Sweets! (Yesterday was our 6 year anniversary) I love you and look forward to many more anniversaries with you. You're my best friend as well as the love of my life.
Now the pictures.
Taylor eating her Christmas morning meat. She calls it beef terkey. No J in jerkey according to her.
Quinten has already gotten into the chocolates.

Post Christmas bloat

I finally have some time to sit down and write a blog. We've been pretty busy visiting Edmonton and then Christmas at my parents and just general hanging out with the fam. I love spending time with my fam. We've eaten a lot of very good food. Nothing like a home cooked Christmas meal. I love my Mom's cooking. I love it so much that I ate a little bit too much, and by a little bit I mean a lot. I couldn't stop myself from bringing it all back up. I felt much better and I think Chris was thankful for it too. Today is clean up day. You see I went a little crazy on the kids and Chris's stockings. Whoops! Some of the stuff they did need. Kids always need clothes so why not put it in their stockings. Anyway enough about that. And I have to do laundry and we are having Tuesday night dinner tonight, so I have to make supper. I might even start packing who knows. When I find the camera I will post some pictures. Well I hope everyone is having a great week and isn't too bloated from eating so much Christmas goodies and snacks.
Later!
Peace out!

Smell my finger

So after our sleepless night with Taylor it turns out she has an ear infection. Last night was a much better sleep. I hope everyone has a very merry Christmas, just incase I don't post before Monday. And to all my Edmonton peeps is anyone free tomorrow either day or night so that we can see you all? Call us at Chris's parents or our cell. Anyway before i get back to packing I will leave you with a conversation I had with Taylor. It went a little something like this.
Taylor: Smell my finger momma.
Me: Uh, no thanks. Where has your finger been?
Taylor: Up my bum.
Now that is dithguthting.
Later!
Peace out!

Early morning shopping

So after a super rough night with Taylor, she just fell asleep, I decided that while I was awake I would check out the 24 hour Wal-mart experience. It was pretty good. Not really a line up, and didn't have to deal with cranky kids. Chris wanted to go at 3:00 am but I guess it didn't happen. I'm not sure I want to do it again but if I had to it is nice to have the option. Hopefully tonight is a better night. I have to get up early tomorrow to take down the Christmas decorations at work so that we can then head out to Edmonton early enough in the day. I think I might end up sleeping all the way up there. So that is my day so far. Should be interesting to see what else happens.
Later!
Peace out!

Slacker

I've been a blogging slacker lately. Why is it that we can for weeks and not really have any plans and then in a matter of weeks we are swamped with things to do. I've also been very busy cleaning and baking and cleaning and baking. I think you get the hint. Last night we went to a Christmas gathering at some friends from Chris's class. They live way up north so packed stuff for the kids so they could lay down. Some of the guys pulled out the guitars and were singing. Taylor was laying upstairs and yelled out I don't like that music. Man kids are so honest. Today Jordan comes home and tomorrow Dev comes home. I don't know about anybody else but I am super excited to see them. Kristen arrived yesterday and we will probably get to see her at the airport tonight. YEAH!!!!!!! I love when we are all in the same city together. I love family time. Nathan has been a surrogate brother and I want to thank him for being like a brother to me. I love hanging out with him too. I know Nathan enough of the mush. Okay I'll stop. Well Taylor has asked to go for quiet time and Quinten is already napping so I should take advantage and get some work done just so they can mess things up later.
Till the next time!
Later!
Peace out!

Santa, haircuts and baking

This week has been a full week. We saw Santa, both kids got hair cuts, got the shopping fully finished, and did some baking. Christmas cakes were done before but nanimo bars, rum balls, ginger snaps and now poppy seed rolls are done. Well the rolls are almost done. I'm sure they won't be as good as my mom's but hopefully they taste at least okay. Oh yeah I almost forgot. We got a new bed! YEAH! A chick that Chris works with had this bed that they only used a few times because they got a king size bed so they gave it to us. Now where to put the other bed? I'll let Chris deal with that. Hopefully tonight will be a better night for sleeping. I'll let you know. I will leave you with a few pictures. One of our Santa trip (please don't judge how not put together I look) and a picture of QuinQuin with his new big boy hair. Taylor's hair doesn't really look any different.

Tree #2 pics

So as promised here are pictures of tree #2. Also a picture of Taylor in her fake glasses she got in a dress up kit from Santa (at Chris's work). She looks like a 50's school teacher. Yesterday's Santa visit didn't go as planned. I woke up a little later than I expected so I didn't have time to really make myself look good. I looked decent. Hair brushed, teeth brushed, clothes ironed, of course, but not make up and hair not done just combed. Both kids freaked out when it was their turned to see Santa so I had to be in the picture. Maybe I will post it, I'm not sure.

Who knew Taylor was a ham!

Yesterday was the Christmas concert at church and the sunday school was featured in a small section. I thought for sure I was going to have a fight on my hands just trying to get her up on stage. Not the case. For one thing she insisted on taking her lady bug backpack up with her. She kept trying to take the microphone down and finally she didn't want to hold her backpack anymore so she thought it would be a good idea to hang it on the microphone. And she even did the actions and danced. I think a lot of people were surprised including Chris and I. I guess we have a little performer on our hands. Yesterday morning we had Chris's kids Christmas party. When will the kids stop being afraid of Santa. Both of mine freaked when it was their turn. Thank goodness Chris was there this year to deal with them. I tend to get a little bit embarrased when I don't know anybody and something like that happens. Tomorrow I am going to attempt to take them to Santa at the mall. I hope I don't have to sit with them. Taylor's first santa visit she freaked and we have a picture of her crying. Isn't that what makes the memories. I am trying to let go of things having to be perfect. For some reason I feel that pictures should be perfect. (Breath in, breath out.) So that is a recap of yesterday. Today babysat, got some baking done, worried about Taylor having a concussion, she took a pretty good fall straight back on the back of her head. She seems to be okay though. maybe I will have tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

Man I sure rambled. Sorry about that.

Tree #2

So we had a little accident at about 5 am this morning. Chris had just got home from work and i heard a bang and crash. Went downstairs and found the tree on the floor. We couldn't get the tree to go back up so it is now in the backyard with the tree stand still attached. Off to home depot I went and got us a new tree. This one smells like a Christmas tree. I did like the family time we had getting the tree and if we could find a place that had Christmas trees we would do it again. I'm just glad that it happened in the middle of the night and not during the day when one of the kids was playing around it. Now we need to find some time to decorate it. It might be a mom and dad job only tonight. Who knows. Pictures to come once decorated. Hopefully this one stays up.

More house talk

So I went by to have a look at the progress on our house. The garage is framed and they have started on the second floor. I did take some pictures but I just don't have the energy to get the camera to download the pics. Hopefully tomorrow I will be more energetic. Chris is working overtime, again. It's hard because I know it is extra money and it sure helps out. I just wish he didn't have to do it. It's no bonus, that's for sure. I can't wait for him to have some time off. If he's not working, he's working on the basement. Luckly we have stuff to do this weekend so he can't work the whole weekend away. And to top it all off, I know some of you have missed my poop stories, Taylor has had diarreha, yet again. She has been doing so well with the potty training. She hasn't worn a pull up for a few weeks now. Not even at night. Well this week she has had to wear one because of the poops. Poor kid. She hates wearing them and is still trying to use the potty. We've had a few poop accidents in underwear. A couple of pairs of undies have even been garbage worthy. Yuck! Now tell me how easy it is to be a stay at home mom. Oh well the good times out weigh the bad times. I love my kids so I can clean up poop anytime, anywhere for them.
Well I am going to lay on the couch and hopefully fall asleep. Our couch is so much more comfortable than our bed and because Chris is still working I am taking advantage of the good sleep. We need a new mattress so badly.
Later!
Peace out!
P.S. I got my first Christmas card in the mail today. Thanks Steve and Lori! I was so excited.

Our tree

A couple of before pictures. It kind of looks like somebody just found a tree and placed in our great room.

And now a little decorating and the finished product. Chris did say he wouldn't mind if we got rid of this tree and went and got our usual. I said no because we got this tree as a family and it's our tree this year. What we need to do is find a tree cutting down place that has actual Christmas trees.

I'm too young to shave

That is what Taylor told me after she tried shaving her legs yesterday. And yes it was with a real razor. We have them on shelves in the bathtub but she has started to climb on the ledge. Now we have to get something to hold the razors up high. And tonight while having supper she told she had to pee, yeah! so off she went. Well it didn't seem like she was gone a long time and we don't remember hearing the toilet flush but she flooded the toilet. She walked out with pants that were wet at the bottom. It looked like she had stepped in her potty. Nope there was water everywhere. In the bathroom, outside of the bathroom and in the laundry room. I didn't think we would reach this stage this soon. I guess she likes to use a lot of toilet paper. I wonder who she gets that from. Next it will be toothbrushes. Oh wait she has already done something like that. A few weeks ago she put Chris's toothbrush in her potty after she peed. Good thing I noticed it was wet and asked her about it. Could you imagine? Yuch! The tree is still not decorated because we want to do it with the kids and Taylor fell asleep during her timeout. Hopefully tomorrow. I'm like a little kid.
Well that's all folks!

Tree cutting adventure

So yesterday Chris phoned me and said we are going to cut down our Christmas tree this year. He has wanted to do this for a long time but the kids have been too small. We also had not taken our family photo for our Christmas card so we thought we could shoot 2 birds with one stone. So Chris found out where we had to go and it turned out to be around Cochrane. At least that's what he told me. Well it turns out this tree place was about 1 1/2 hours away. It took us an hour and a half once we got there, got our permit, got the kids dressed and got on our way to cutting down the perfect Christmas tree, and then back to the car. Mean while the kids start crying while Chris and Nathan are off scouting things out. Next year we will be more well prepared like taking a sled for the kids. The tree is sure different than the ones we have bought in the past. I will post a picture after we decorate it. I have to admit that I got a little grumpy once the kids got grumpy. But now I look back and am happy that we did it.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is my Dad's birthday. I won't tell you his age but he was born about 50, add a few years, years ago. I hope you don't have to work too much Dad. And we will enjoy cake together later.

Nothing too exciting has been happening in our household. The next couple of weeks are going to be busy with more house appointments, parties, Christmas concerts etc. And we can't forget about decorating our Christmas tree and scrapbooking club on Sunday. I can't wait. Well I will hopefully be a better blogger in the up coming days. Till I have something to write about.
Later!
Peace out!

Update

I've been a bad blogger lately. I used to be crazy blogger, blogging a couple of times a day. I guess my life just hasn't been super exciting lately. In my previous post I had a picture of Taylor with blue all over her. I bought the kids a tattoo stamp kit before summer and she likes to stamp her self and then color them in. Well she went a little crazy. Which I don't care. it's washable and she's just a kid. She might as well have some fun with them. We were getting ready to go out and didn't want to go so she started crying. That is why she has blue all over her face.

More has been done on the house. Now it's crunch time for Chris to finish our basement. He has made some really good progress. Tomorrow is our lighting appointment, watching Chris play hockey, and buying some much needed chair covers for our kitchen chairs. Now they won't look so gross. Having kids can sure wrecked the furniture. Good thing I don't have expensive taste.

So that is our lives for the next day. Hopefully I will get the Christmas decorations up the in the next few days. Then we'll get our tree on Saturday, and decorate it on Sunday. I love the time spendt with family doing that kind of stuff. It's what makes memories and traditions. It's cool that our little family is coming up with some of our own traditions.

I will leave you with a few pictures. The one with the kids in the bath looks like they are bathing in 2000 flushes.

21 days till Jordan comes home.

22 days till Dev comes home.

And I don't know how many days till Kristen comes home but I am super excited to see all of them.

YEAH!!!!

Hair today gone tomorrow

So I did it. I had my haircut. Actually it's not a big deal at all. I love changing things up. I did take pictures but keep in mind that it is almost 9:45 pm and I took the pictures myself using a mirror. I will also leave you with some pictures of my kids.

My hair needs help

I've decided that I am so sick of wearing my hair in a pony tail. I have made a hair appointment for Friday and have till then to find something that I really like. My favorite hairstyle was the classic bob. A little bit shorter at the back to give it shape and then longer in front. I'm not a huge fan of layers so I think I will asked for minimal layers or non at all. If anybody has any ideas, JENN.
I would love to see or hear them.

Yesterday we had our interior appointment for the new house. Who knew we had to pick so much. We even got to pick what color grout we wanted for our ceramic tile. And even with the upgrades we picked I think we will come out getting money back. Chris had originally said we would have an oak railing but we changed our minds to go with white because of the baseboards being white. And our cupboards are maple not oak and that would have been even more money to upgrade to maple. It's amazing how much we had to upgrade. And we didn't even go with the most expensive stuff. I'm sure they do that on purpose because they know nobody wants a lot of the standards. We will probably change stuff as we live in the house but for now we did the upgrades that couldn't be done later, and that we really cared about. We have 2 more appointments to go. Lighting and a place called digital imaging. I guess they do the cable outlets and stuff like that. I've heard the lighting can be costly. Most people like to upgrade those.
That's all for now.

No hole

We went show home looking to get some ideas for our interior. We have that appointment tomorrow. After we thought well lets go check out our lot and see if they have dug the hole yet. Well they've done more than that. The foundation has been poured. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get a hole picture but super happy that we have a foundation. Here is a picture of our non hole.

Banff or Bust

So yesterday I went shopping, looking for more Christmas presents. I went into Children's Place, of course. Taylor found this hat and would not take it off. It actually looked so cute on her the way she had put it on. I bought it for her. It was only $5 and I thought it would a little something to her Christmas outfit. She did not take it off all day. As you can see she wanted to wear it to bed.

Today Chris was off so we thought a little road trip to Banff was in order. We hit the usual stores bought a few stocking stuffers and of course bought Murtles. If you've read a previous post you will know how much I love murtles. I have to cut it up to eat now because of the braces but still oh so good. That's all for now. Nothing terribly exciting going on around here. Maybe tomorrow. Till then.

It's Fort time

She I said fort time not fart time. Who do you think I am? Okay so I would talk about farts but not today. The other night Chris was working late, again, and Taylor was asking for him so I thought that night would be the perfect night to make a fort. Taylor was so excited about it. She didn't really want me to go in it but she really wanted QuinQuin to play in it with her. Although he didn't really care for the fort. Pictures to follow.
On another note, has anybody else noticed how Christmas has becoming so much about the gifts? Don't get me wrong, I do like gifts, especially giving them. Why is everyone so focused on getting the most expensive gift or the most gifts? Are we forgetting what Christmas is really about? The birth of Jesus. I'm not trying to preach because I know that I am one of those who can't wait to buy the perfect gift for everyone. I must be getting older because I am just really excited about seeing my brothers and sister-in-law. The gifts are nice, but the time spent with family is so much better. We have a lot of traditions in our family and I can't wait to do those things. I've been thinking a lot about this and felt the need to get it off my chest. I hope everyone has a great Christmas season and takes the time to relax and enjoy time with family and friends.

Now I will leave you with some fort pictures.

Come on QuinQuin come in my fort.

Don't go QuinQuin.

The cranks

So we didn't end up having to take the kids to the doctor. Our family doc will be at work the week so if they aren't showing signs of improvement on Monday I will take them to Dr. J. Taylor had her good moments today and we thought she was feeling better, but then the cranks came back. And Quinten, I don't know what his deal is. He seems to be Mr. Cranks lately. Maybe he is always hungry but doesn't want to eat. I hope we get to the bottom of this. Although he has been sleeping a ton. If he's not eating, which isn't very much, he is sleeping. Maybe he is trying to grow. Or maybe not.
Thank you everyone for your thoughtful comments. I hopw the kids are feeling better soon so I can get back to our regular posts. I haven't had any poop pictures lately. Or stories for that matter.
On another note Chris and I were able to go shopping sans kids this afternoon. We got a lot accomplished. Bought 4 stockings and few more Christmas presents. I am going to be done before I know it. For the last few years we have been trying to buy these special stockings and we always end up at the store to late in the season. This year I was on top of it and now we all have a stocking. Yeah! I know, what a nerd for getting so excited over stockings. What can I say.

Well I don't have much else to tell. I hope everyone has a great Saturday. Till I write again.
Later!
Peace out!
Thanks Joy and Tanya for coming over tonight for a little visit. And for the gingerbread latte.
I feel like I haven't seen you guys in awhile.

Finally

I finally had an eggnog latte in a Christmas cup. I did buy the reduced fat kind. I will say this, not as good as the full fat version. I might have to treat myself once in awhile for a full fat one. I was still yummy.
Just as when we thought our house was done being sick another one falls ill. Quinten has had, you guessed it, diarreha for the last week. We are having him checked tomorrow. And now Taylor is sick again. My mom and I went shopping today and she was fine till near the end of our shopping adventures. We have this attachment for the stroller that she calls her skateboard. She laid down on that for awhile and then fell asleep in the stroller. So not like her. Then we got home and I could understand a word she was saying and she had a temp of 39.9. It really scared me. She now has a temp of 40 so according to health link we might have to take her in tonight. I hope not. I always get so worried when my kids are sick. Especially when they aren't acting like themselves and are really lethargic. I never know what to do. How long do you wait to have them looked at? And it doesn't matter how long you wait to see someone, as soon as you get to the doctor's office them seem to be better. I guess we'll see if Quinten does have something or is just sick with a cold. I know I'm a worrier so it is good that I have Chris to keep me balanced.
Well till tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

I'm so disappointed

Starbucks is starting to make me a little upset. Yesterday Heather came for Tuesday night dinner and brought me an eggnog latte from the Strarbucks by our house. She had to tell them how to make it and they still didn't get it right. So today being Wednesday, and I was told I could get a festive drink today, I went to Starbucks. Yet to be disappointed again. I was told tomorrow I could get one. Why is it that everybody else is serving them but the one by my house? Are they waiting for the Christmas cup? Who knows. All I have to say is that I was super disappointed. I was really looking forward to an eggnog or gingerbread latte. Yvonne can you ask Chris about it? I'm so frustrated. Anyway.
Happy Birthday Desiree. I hope you get spoiled.
That's all for now. My mom is about to give me a lesson on making Christmas cake.

Who will have more fun? Me or kids

I decided to open Quinten's tickle me elmo last night. I wanted to make sure it worked. I would be distraught if it didn't work on Christmas morning. Who knew 2 adults could laugh so hard at a kids toy. He really is funny and it is super cool that he falls down and then rights himself. Oh the fun I'm, I mean the kids are going to have on Christmas morning.

2 more days till Starbucks Christmas drinks. Seen as our Starbucks seems to be the only one not serving the special drinks. Meh..

Later!
Peace out!

I loves Chocolate

Last night, at church, was a death by chocolate event. Everybody was to bring a chocolate something and there was a chocolate fountain. Everything was so good. I hadn't really eaten very much yesterday because of the ol' braces, so i didn't feel too guilty about indulging. As things were winding up, some of the kids came downstairs. One of those kids being mine. I could not pry her away from the chocolate fountain. I think we have fondue too much because she knew just what to do. Dip in the fruit and tap off the excess. Everyone that was left was so amazed at how much she ate. They all thought we were in for a long night of no sleep. She went right to sleep and she even slept in this morning. So chocolate before bed from now on.
I was reading Liz and K's blogs this aft. They were taking about getting their first Starbucks festive drink for the season. I said to myself, self you need an eggnog latte. Off I went all excited for my first festive drink of the season. No such luck. The barista informed me they can't sell them till Wednesday. She didn't know why others were able to. So I had to get a pumpkin spice latte. Don't get me wrong they are good but they stain the elastics on my braces a nice orange color. So Wednesday is the day. Joy lets do coffee that day.
That's all for now. Quinten is still sick and Taylor is being her usual goofy self.
Later!
Peace out!

TMX

I never thought I would stand in line for a toy. Luckly I didn't have to stand long. I inquired, yesterday, at ToysRus when they would be getting more Tickle me Elmo's in. I was told I would have to line up at 9:30am Saturday morning. There I would receive a ticket to purchase the said toy. I got there at 9:05 am and everybody was already lined up and starting to move in. So what do I do. I paniced for a second. What if I don't get one. It's really not that big of a deal. Quinten doesn't even know they exist. Luckly I got a ticket and purchased TMX. It is pretty cool. The things we do for our kids. Getting up early on a Saturday morning just to buy a toy. It's worth it though. To see their smiling faces when they get something unexpected. So far that has been the highlight of my day. Maybe there will be more to come.

Just call me brace face

It's official. I can now be called brace face. This morning I became the recipient of some fine metal brackets on my bottom teeth. Plus some lovely blue stuff on2 molars to build them up. Bite plate right Joy? That's so I don't bite the bottom braces off. I have a deep bite? Right Joy? Something like that. It is going to take a bit to get used the bite plate. Eating is weird.
Went shopping this morning and got myself a new touque, finally. I don't know if my head has grown or what but I can't seem to fit in any of our touques. I think my head is even bigger than Chris's. That's not saying much. His head is pretty small. I also got Taylor a new winter jacket. She has finally out grown her 18 month one. We probably could have gotten away with a few more wears but her wrists would have been pretty cold. Then it was off to Little Nathan's birthday party. Happy birthday little buddy! And now home. Time to make my treats for Death by Chocolate, at the church. Till tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

The Gas We Pass

Sounds like a book title huh! Well it is and yes we do own it thanks to Jordan. Why does it seem that one always seems to get gas during a workout? It always seems to happen when I'm right in the middle of 2 people and nobody is on either side of them. Does this happen to anybody else? At least they didn't smell. I hope they weren't noisy. I had my music playing pretty loud so I wouldn't know even if I was loud. It is embarrasing. I don't mind doing it in front of my friends but strangers I just can't handle it.
On another note, Taylor has been so nice to Quinten lately. I know that I have posted before about how nice she can be, but this is different. Yesterday Quinten was crying, in the car, and she leaned over, put her hand on his leg and said it's okay bud don't cry. Shocker I got a little teary. She is so caring towards him. I hope it continues as they grow up. And she is constantly wanting him to play in her room. I've peaked in a few times and they are actually playing. She'll be reading to him or showing him stuff. It so nice to see. So far my kids get along pretty well. Don't get me wrong they do have their fights. Especially when it comes to sheepy. That's a whole other topic. I look forward to them growing up together and being friends not just siblings.
I don't have much else to say tonight. So I will say the usual.
Later!
Peace out!

Happy Halloween

I hope everyone had a good halloween. And for all the parents out there with trick or treating age had good time in the cool night. We had a good time with Taylor, Quinten was sleeping so he stayed home with Nana. She sure got a lot of candy for only going to about a dozen houses. I don't ever remember getting so much from each house when I was a kid. And of course I bought too much candy again this year so all the kids were getting big hand fulls especially at the end of the night. A good time was had by all. Taylor was scared at a few houses. They were right decked out. I think it was the scary music. She still had fun though.
As for the picture of Chris in his costume. It's not that he is embarrased by the photo but you'll probably notice that his picture has not shown on my blog yet. There is a good reason for that. If you think about it you'll know. So that's that. He is so layed back that he could care less what he looks like in a picture. Well I think it is time to put my feet up and relax a bit. I'm sure tomorrow will be busy. Who knows what I am in store for. Have a great night.
Later!
Peace out!

No picture of Daddy

Sorry no picture of Chris in his costume. He has asked me not to post it. Let me just say that he dressed up as a lady. My was he pretty. His ensemble included fake eyelashes, a dress filled with kleenex in the appropriate area, red lipstick, fish net stockings, a tiara and butterfly wings. Oh and a wand and blonde wig. If your ever over and want to see the picture I might be able to make it happen. Not much has happened around here today. I will leave you with pictures of Quinten dressing up and Taylor carving a pumpkin. If you make the first picture bigger you can see a nice booger.

Party time, excellent!

Last night Joy threw a fabulous halloween party for the kids. Thanks Joy for putting all that work into the party. It was fun. Next year more adults should dress up. Chris and I were the only adults to dress up. But we aren't the type of people to care. I have a picture of Chris in his costume so if I get permission to post it I will. Taylor was the only kid at the end of the night still wearing her costume. She even wanted to sleep in it. What a kid. I hope everyone is having a wonderful snowy day.

Peace out!

1st Hair cut

These are some before shots. Look how happy he is. He doesn't know what is coming.

Quinten has finally had his 1st haircut. I have to admit that I got a little teary as it was happening. I didn't want him to look too grown up. He's my baby. It is so much better now. Not so shaggy and girly looking. He does look like a little boy.
He wasn't too happy about the whole thing. It is hard to tell in the after shots how cute it really looks. He wasn't in a picture taking mood.

No puke or poop

So I think we're done with being sick. Although Chris hasn't got whatever the kids and I had. Cross my fingers he doesn't get it. I woke up this morning and was feeling great.
My mom had her pacemake put in today. She is doing well and hopefully will be discharged tomorrow. She is thankful for everybody's thoughts and prayers. I would like to thank everybody for being so caring.
On the way to the hospital tonight, my Dad and I saw a dodge truck. He said it must be a cowboy truck. I wasn't getting what he was saying. I didn't see any cowboy hats or anything else cowboyish. Underneath at the back of the truck was a metal scrotum hanging just so. I have never seen that before. I couldn't stop laughing. I said that is blog worthy for sure. Sorry if anybody finds that offensive.
Tomorrow is haircut day for The Boy. I'm a little sad to cut it. I'm not really sure why. It needs to be done though. At times his hair looks girly. And we can't have that. I will have pictures tomorrow. I hope it doesn't make him look to grown up. He is after all my baby.
Anyway. I have nothingh more to post. Till tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

Sick day #2

As I write this post I am finally starting to feel better. When you're a stay at home mom you don't get to call in sick. So it is very hard to rest and get better. You throw up in the midst of playing and cleaning and laundry, etc. My mom didn't get her pacemaker today. She wasn't even on the list for today. I guess too many people needs theirs more than she does. She is on the end of tomorrow's list. No guarantee though. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. I don't have much more to say. So I will leave you with a few pictures.

It's the cap'd avenger. And messy man. And our little unicorn posing.

Will it ever end?

I wish I could report that the puking and other stuff is done. But it is not. Nope it's not the kids. They have passed it on to me. Oh how lucky can I be. At least I know to go to the bathroom so hopefully I won't have to wash more sheets. What a way to spend my special day. Bent over a toilet. Nathan sort of bought Swiss chalet tonight but I couldn't even really enjoy it because I feel so crappy. He said he would buy dinner for my b-day. He was told it should come in 40 minutes or it is free. Well we got it free but still gave the girl a tip because it wasn't her fault. I had to pay for the tip. Nathan can buy dinner next week I guess. ;) This won't be a long post as I need to go lay down. Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

Peace out!

Please no more puke!

That is how our day started. With seeing puke on Taylor's shirt and wondering hmmm did she puke last night? Of course she did. Don't most kids cry if they have puked in there beds. Not my kids they like to sleep in it. So now I am doing more sheets and duvets. We went to see my mom today. She is off bed rest and will be getting a pacemaker on Wednesday. She is in good spirits. She hates being sick and weak. I am so proud of how strong she has been through all of this. It must be so frustrating. At least now something is being done. So please continue to keep her in your prayers. Thank you to everybody who has already posted a comment or called to see how she is doing. We all appreciate it. Well that's all for me today. Here's to a day of no puke tomorrow.
Later!
Peace out!

Weekend Rewind

So we were off to Edmonton this weekend. We got our selves up on Friday morning. I packed pretty much everything, as usual. Went to get Taylor dressed she pukes on the floor. What would a post be without puke?! Uneventful trip till we got into Edmonton where Taylor pukes all over herself in her carseat. Let me tell you a car seat is not easy to clean on a side road. She then said she felt fine and we prceeded tp West Ed to shop for Abby. Then to meet Abby. Bri and Chrissy she is so beautiful. After a little visit with them off to Grandpa and Grandma's house. Where Taylor puked 2 more times in the drive way. I hope this puking thing is done. Chris's parents and a little birthday bash for Quinten on Saturday night. That was so nice of them. And today they had a birthday dinner for Tom and myself. Then home to visit my mom in the hospital. She is doing well and will know more tomorrow. She has been having problems with her heart and I'm pretty sure a pacemaker is needed. Please keep our family, especailly my mom, in your prayers. I love you mom.
Now I need to rest up because I think tomorrow could be a busy day. I will be cooking my first turkey. My parents had taken it out to cook tomorrow but obviously they can't so I get to. I really hope it is edible.
I'll keep you posted on how my mom is doing.
Later!
Peace out!

New computer

So this is my first post on our new computer. Our bedroom is a little crowded right now because Chris is finishing the basement. Once that is done the computer will be out of our room. Anyway that's all for now. Have a great weekend.

Poop, Puke and lots of laundry

So after one good day we are back to the puke and poop. Once again Quinten puked in his bed and fell back asleep. This time he didn't wake up till 8:30am. Bathed him, cleaned his sheets. Found out he had diarreha to top it off. Put him back to bed and again diarreha but this time leaked in his bed. Change another set of sheets and outfits. We are on outfit #3 for him. Then Taylor came over to me with down her leg and on her pj bottoms. I thought she had leaked but later I found a little surprise. Showered her off, new clothes, wash more stuff. That was at 11:00am. It is now 3:00pm. I found a little log of poop in amongst the toys and a smear on the carpet. Don't worry, everything has been sanatized. How do I get so lucky. Well hopefully it gets better.
I'll keep you updated.

Better then Yesterday

Today was a much better day. No puke. Yeah! I took the kids to the mall this morning to get my extra pair of glasses fixed. As we were driving up our street I saw Purolator pulling away from our house. We had missed him, and our new computer, by minutes. So I guess tomorrow is the day. It will be so nice to have our own computer. Oh the things I will be able to do. I will never get any housework done. Okay yes I will because I can't seem to stand a mess lately. Till tomorrow.

Peace out!

Thanks for the coffee

As you have probably read in my earlier post, my day didn't start all that great. A very special friend to me dropped by in this afternoon just to bring me a coffee. Thank you so much. I needed that. I am so thankful to have such great friends. And that they take the time to care. So again thank you.
And on a side note, the puking has not stopped. You know you're a mom when you get puked on and don't freak out. Hopefully tonight will be a puke free night.
Later!
Peace out!

Early morning

So my day has already begun. Actually it began at 5:00am,when I had to wake up Chris. I always find it hard to get back to sleep right away because it sounds like he is stopping around downstairs, with his shoes on. Then I have to lock the door behind him. As I was going back to bed I thought for some reason that I should check on Quinten. Well it's a good thing I did. He had puked in the middle of the night. Not just spit up but real puke. And there was a ton. All over him, because he had been sleeping in it, all over his stuffed animals, sheepy and blankets. He definitely needed a bath at this point. Seen as he had chunks of the stuff smushed in his hair. I get him bathed and changed and bring him into bed with me. All of sudden he starts heaving. Now I have puke all over me. So back into his own bed so that I can have a shower. This is all before 6:00am. Just as I'm getting out of the shower Taylor is yelling, from behind her door, that she has puked in her bed. So into the tub for her and another clean up of sheets for me. I have a feeling it is going to be a really long day. So for those of you out there that think Mom's have it easy because they get to stay home. Think again. Would you like to be puked on? I don't think so. I love staying home with my kids but I hate puke.
So that's the start of our day. I am now wide awake. Let's see what the rest of the day has in store.
No I didn't take any pictures of it.

Lobb Birthday season

Well it is official. Lobb birthday season is coming to an end. Well at least the birthdays that I have to plan are done. I shouldn't have to plan my own. Although I'm sure I'll have to make dinner because my birthday is on a Tuesday. And every Tuesday I have Tuesday night dinner. For the party on Saturday I decided to do Monkey cupcakes. I took my brother Devin's advice and made them to look similar to the monkey cake. Don't worry I have pictures from the weekend. I think fun was had by all. We rented the kinder room at Southland Leisure center. It was great no clean up on my part. Didn't have to clean my house and then the leisure center staff cleans the room for the next booking. It was great. So that has been our weekend.
On another note. ***Viewer discretion is advised**** You know you have a problem when.... You fart and it is kind of smelly. And by kind of I mean very smelly. So this happened to me just as we were leaving for church. Taylor was standing looking at me like what just happened. Then she realized something didn't smell right. "What's that I smell mommy? I smell something." All while looking at me with disgust. She then ran to Chris quite upset because she was scared. Who knew I could have that affect. I would now like to apologize to anyone reading this that might be offended by the talk of bodily functions. I just thought it was funny. Come to think of it we had Indian food over at Joy and Darrin's last night. Hmmmm.
So that has been our weekend. I hope you all had a good one and will have a great week coming up. And come on baby Gallimore. I want to see you on Friday.
Later!
Peace out!

And Now-Happy Birthday Quinten

Happy Birthday my sweet, smiley boy! Today he is 1 year old. No longer zero. We had these pictures taken for yesterday. I couldn't decide so I got this collage as well as 8 sheets of the bottom right picture. It was hard to pick because every picture he was smiling in. I tried to get pictures of both kids together but that didn't work out at all. I couldn't get them to sit still. Today Quinten learned how to climb out of his high chair. I was cleaning out the oven, and Ethan called for me. "Auntie Kirsten look at Quinten." There Quinten was standing on the top of his tray. I know the high chair came with straps but I have no idea where I put them. I guess I will have to use duct tape to strap him in. Then after breakfast I put him to bed in just his diaper, well I found him jumpinh around buck naked. What is with my kids and their diapers.
It kind of makes me sad that a year has already gone by. Soon he won't be a baby. It's amazing how much he has grown in the last year. Again Happy Birthday QuinQuin! We love you!

Then

Quinten's first few days of life. One year ago today.
